Deathskullz 1000 pts

I've decided to make a 1000 pt army first then expand from there. There are going to be a lot of weaknesses with such a small Deathskullz list due to the 2 Loota squads but I hope to make them in a way that they'll either be really good or really bad at a minimal cost. Here goes...

HQ:

Warboss Krukka 113 pts
- Slugga, choppa, bionic bonce, lucky tatoos (counts as cybork body), 'eavy armour, iron gob, bosspole, 2 attack squigs & frags

Mekboy Bitzy 41 pts
- KFF, choppa, frags & 'eavy armour

// Krukka is just starting out here, he's just a mincy Warboss but in true Deathskull fashion, he doesn't go anywhere without a Bitzy, his only body guard followed by his two loveable pets.

Ellites:

Dozza's 'Ard Boyz (12) 226 pts
- Nob Dozza with choppa, BS, bionic arm & iron gob
- 3 Boyz with BS
- 8 Boyz with sluggas & choppas
- all with frags

// These guys dish out some anti-troop firepower and hopefully will be resiliant enough to last as they trek up the board. They'll stay relatively close to the main mob of boyz.

Troops:

Da Snaggaz (Lootas) 75 pts
- Boy with lascannon
- 5 Boyz with shootas

Dem Theevin Gitz (Lootas) 75 pts
- Boy with lascannon
- 5 Boyz with shootas

// Hopefully the lootas can get some lucky shots in and take out some armour. They could scare my opponent so he shoots at them and not at my main mob of boyz, or he disregards them and has to worry about 'what if they do hit'.

Smakkaz Attakaz (Stikkbommaz) 262 pts
- Nob Smakka with PK, choppa & 'eavy armour
- 3 Boys with burnas
- 16 Boyz with CCWs, sluggas
- all have frags & kraks

// These guys are the front line accompanied by Krukka and Bitzy with the KFF, so they will be that more resiliant to ranged attacks. They should be able to deal with any drednaughts or transports that come their way as well as any troops that come up the board.

Heavy Support:

Looted Leman Russ 157 pts
- Hull HB, armour plates & riggers

// Lurks about poping ranged shots off at whatever it can see.

Killa Kan 50 pts
- Rokkit launcha and armour plates

// Marches in the front lines with the boyz under the KFF.

Total: 999 pts

HQ: 15.4%
Ellites: 22.6%
Troops: 41.2%
Fast: 0%
Heavy: 20.7%

46 troops
2 vehicles

So there you have it, any comments are much apprechiated since I would really like to finalize this list and start buying/modeling full units.

Looks pretty good.

The HQ is nice, I'm not a big fan of attack squigs because of their low strength, but hey, if you like 'em.

The 'ard boyz are nice, 4 big shootas can lay it down. I might consider droping the killa kan to add to these boyz.

Those lootas are nice. Compact and to the point. You may want to watch out for infiltraters.

I like stikk bombas. This is a nice unit and should be able to dish out a lot of damage.

Lastly, you can never go wrong with a leman russ.

That kan...eh. I might drop it to add somethere else. Maybe to the 'ard boyz or even another mek to spread more KFF love.

I've been hashing out this list for a while now. I was never really happy with anything I could come up with Deathskullz wise for 1000 pts. Last night I spent like 3 hours on this with help from tons of Ork tactica and other lists from three different online fourms.

I agree with you about the kan somewhat, it just doesn't belong, I know. I had few points left over and it seemed like a good idea to have a rokkit on the front lines with an extra PK attack, and being under the KFF, it's chances for survival are better, however I would perfer having 2 kans here. Where could I get the points for the other kan? I also want another unit on the front lines soaking up shots cause all that I have up front are 32 boys in 2 units, not that good IMO.

I'll think some more about the kan. Laters

The only place I see the extra points for the kans, is in the HQ. Drop the Warboss and the Mek for a Big Mek.

You won't have the fighting ability of the warboss, but you'd gain the fighting of another kan and still have the KFF.

Its something to think about but at the same time it will be a little more risky since now you combined 2 models into one.

Its worth a shot.

Ok, for the extra kan I need to get rid of...

- attack squigs X2 : 4 weak attacks, 2 wounds
- bionic bonce (Warboss) : better save
- bionic arm ('Ard Boyz) : 1 choppa attack (in a group of choppas)
- 2 Stikkbommaz : 4 CCW attacks, 2 wounds

I don't think it's worth it.

I really like my HQ, very fluffy and fun. I think I'm going to leave it as is, at least it's a good start on buying models, modeling them the right gear and painting them up. I can always add to the units for larger games. My first step on going forward to 1500 pts will be beefing up the 'Ard Boyz and adding that extra kan. I'll make the 1500 pt jump when I get there, but for right now I'm good. Thanks for the feedback, kep it coming you have anything else to add.

Explain. You mean I don't have to take lootas and can just take looted vehicles as the 2 manditory troop choices? I'm a bit confused by this statement.
