Okay, being a long standing Transfan, and after seeing the movie, I was stoked when I learned that there was a new line of action figures to accompany the new film. I was especially delighted when I found out that both the '74 and '08 version of Bumblebee would be done as a deluxe figure. After checking both Walmarts, Target, and the Toys R Us we have in town off and on for the past few weeks, I fell back to the Intarweb for support, and this is what I found:
Amazon.com: Transformers Movie Deluxe Bumblebee 08 Camaro: Toys & Games
Why the **** is this going for $33 when it is a ten dollar toy!? It seems that this figure either hasn't hit regular store shelves yet, or people are hoarding them and doling them off on eBay and Amazon for a huge profit. It's as bad as a Wii or PS3!
WTF is up with this? Is this the future of shopping? Anything that is worth buying or highly desired is purchased en mass by one ****ing prick and then sold at a madd increase from the MSRP? Why can't these ****s get a life and a job and support their crack habits that way? God damn I'm ****ing pissed at this shit.
Woah, easy now, take a deep breath before you end up with a heart attack from that sky-rocketing stress level! I realise Transformers can be very rant-inspiring (those reading my personal blog can attest to that fact *coughs*) but I’d nevertheless advise turning it down a notch; this forum is rated PG-13 after all.
As for the price of the toys on Amazon, I’m afraid that if anyone is making a profit from the toys it’s not the retailers but the producers, Hasbro/Takara. That’s actually the shelf price of the toys, at least here in Europe. I found Deluxe Barricade (same size as Bumblebee) in Toy’r’us yesterday for DKR 159, which amounts to somewhere around US$30, and I also noticed Deluxe Blackout when I was in London to a price of £22/$45 (same size as Ratchet and Starscream.)
Yes, these toys are damn expensive. But on the other hand, they look damn cool too.
Not that I actually collect Transformers toys, of course, what with me being a mature adult of
2223 and not at all a fangirl. Uh-huh. Right. :shifty:

It's only £10 (~$20) here.
Amazon.co.uk: Transformers Movie Deluxe: Bumblebee Figure: Toys & Games
And £15 (~$30) here.
Transformers Movie Deluxe: Bumblebee Figure: Toys & Games
Seems like a mark up somewhere.
And Greph, London hikes it's prices up just 'cause it's London. Smelly, silly London.

Odd. I work at Target and Ratchet, Starscream, and Blackout cost only 19.99 here. O_o And hte smaller ones are only 7.99 here as well.
