Well, the famed singer has apparently finally died, at aged 50. Multiple sources confirm that he was rushed to hospital about 7 hours ago, from a Cardiac Arrest, and has been pronounced dead. It is all over the news, so I shall not bother providing a link.
I'm not sure if this IS a topic that is appropriate for LO, but I hope it is. I adored Michael Jackson, and am sad to see him go (I also spent £250 on two tickets to go see him later in the year).
Please note, this is NOT a topic to discuss the thing Jackson was accused of in the past. If I see any mention or discussion of those, I WILL close this thread.
What do you think then? Is he dead, or is it all some elaborate publicity stunt?

Generally, if someone's announced dead, it's usually true, especially in the case of a celebrity. So yeah, he's likely very much dead. I'm not amazingly sad to see him go, I feel like he hasn't come out with any new or original material in a very long time. His classics will always be around and will always be quality, and that's really what matters in the world of entertainment.
A sad loss of a true legend... Gone but never forgotten.
RiP Jacko. *moonwalks away silently*
A friend and I were trying to figure out what to call him, and I think someone else posting on another site said it the best - famed singer. He has really never been a legend or icon or idol or any of those things in my eye, just that guy with those classic songs. Admittedly, his classics are great, but after that... he's had no impact.
i am sad to see him go at such a great time for him. but i'm also happy to see him leave the horrible things that had happened in his life. at least he has a break now. i really enjoyed his music and his dancing. an overall great performer. but he shouldn't have gotten that surgery.

I got the news while on the way to work today on the bus. Only after my dad confirmed that the news was all over CNN, did I finally believe it. I wrote a short blog on him on my site, but I rather not repost it here.
RIP Michael, you will be missed.
A very sad loss. I'm not his biggest fan, but he was incredible at what he did, and will be very sorely missed!
We also had tickets for next year, although hopefully we should be alright for refunds!
We had the news on all last night as it broke, and it seemed sureal when they announced it!
Anyway, RIP to a true music legend!...
Well, i am not too sad. It is sad to see him go, but you have to move on.

Yeah I grew up with Michael's music, so I was shocked to hear that he had passed away. 50 is no age at all! I mostly feel for his family - he left 3 children behind.

Personally, i got nothing with the man nor his music, i just hope he finds peace in death, all in all, i can't say it's been a good life for him.
Got a "good" rumour from a GW staffer? Forget about it, LO'ers know more than any random GW shop staffer.
