Welcome to Librarium Online!
This thread is the result of a little research.
At the beginning of the summer I could have said "American hasn't received a drop of Iraqi Oil" and it would be true.
Thus nullifying any possible argument to support the war for Oil theory. I have proposed a LOT of other theories, and, unlike the war for oil theory, no one wan'ts to present anything contrary to them or even read them.
Then about 2 weeks ago when I said that same statement, some one replied. They said America had received pleanty of Iraqi Oil. Well I thought better of turning the whole thing into a is-not/is-too argument so I did a quick google search.
What turned up was news reports saying Iraqi Oil exports were being attacked. I wasn't even aware Iraq was able to export oil, let alone have its shipments attacked. Naturally I wanted to find out who they exported the oil too, but had trouble finding out.
A week later, after forgetting about Librarium Online during class, I was reminded and asked some one about it. They said that the oil in Iraq belonged to Opec, both before and after the war and is sold on the open market. So I did a search on that, and behold the results: Opec Revinue's Fact Sheat
This meens that while the U.S.A. does get some Iraqi oil. So does any one else who buys from Opec. Whats more is that we still buy our oil.
So next time you shoult "WAR FOR OIL!" remember, that we still buy the oil, even after we invaded the nation its drilled from.
Yeees...but have you noticed that since the third quarter of 2003, the difference between todays and thens production is an 85% increase?
But really, what do you expect? The Evil Empire cant simply take Iraqs oil; I mean, thats just too obvious. But to attack a country, effectively secure its reserves for yourself, but buy the oil? Thats halfway believable, if you were naive.
Fortunately, I am not one of those people.
Its a very cynical way to think, but wouldnt you, if you were a cold backstabbing ***** like I have been on occasion; go to the length of destroying a country in order to maintain a hold on the most valuable natural resource aside from oxygen and water known to man? The beauty of it is that it masquerades as a legitimate cause and reason for selling the oil, to rebuild the country.
"It fits like clothes made out of wasps!"
Well a few sacrifices for mankinds future is need it.And the middle east mast be in control, what ever that means(With War or Peace).
MEAT IS MURDER
I remeber hearing somthing about this a few years ago, even though we had a direct embargo with iraq they were still in the top five providors to the US for oil because the oil first went to someother place then the US.
I personally see russia as the next big oil providor for the US. because of the oil in the eural mountains and the fact that the region is incredibly stable compared to the middle east.

I can't tell you why without ending up in prison for the rest of my life, but I can tell you with ONE HUNDRED PERCENT assurance, that we did NOT invade Iraq for it's oil supplies.
I can assure you that our leadership did the right thing by going into Iraq when we did, and that the whole world is a much safer place because of it.
Besides, we are still paying them for the oil and we are paying an even higher price right now, since many of the workers are receiving death threats from terrorist organizations if they show up to their Oil pumps every day for work.
man oh man...
i am in the military and i will not defend my countries actions to those who will refuse to listen or see the truth. the result of what we did and why we did is our buisness and that is the end of it. any cannucks or ne one freakin else can just kiss my a$$ right along with the rest of the liberal freedom hatin peoples out there.
this war was not for oil, it was for peace and our security. period. take it or leave it, but give up your pathetic conspiracy theories, come on...
i know people have the right to feel the way they do and if you think for an instant that america gives a flyin' pile of dog doo about what everyone else thinks then you are sadly mistaken, call us an evil empire if you want, just remember, come our way and we will step on you. period.
wWWwwAaaaAAgggGGGhHHHhhh!!!! = DeAth
Hourglass I am simply asking "how" are we so much safer in a non-agressive manner.
I mean, there were not weapons of mass destruction, correct???

ehh, those damn iraqi's had it coming. they been talking ***** about america for far too long, it was bout damn time we kicked em back in line, considering we are the kings of the world and all.
Take my words with a grain of salt, i am not the tactical genius i think i am!
Actually, I really can't talk about this subject anymore.
If you really want to know, then get a top secret security clearance, and then MAYBE they'll tell you stuff.
Hmmmm, it would seem to me that if there was any new relevant information, Dubya would have busted it out by now. But if it's anything I will guess it has something to either do with a) Israel or b) they are going to either "reveal" WMD's in October to give Bush some extra oomph for his campaign (not that he needs it right now) or c) they are going to reveal the capture of Al-Zarqawi who is a busy little bee right now in Iraq.
Anyway, good job Shiver on finding that out.
Phobos: while labeling the U.S.S.R. as an Evil Empire was an exceedingly accurate label, you can't honestly believe that the U.S. is anywhere near as bad as the Soviet Union?
