I always wondered what the next bolter would look like. The current one is a great leap from the last one, which sucked. So, go over to paint (Or take out paper, a pencil/pen, and a scanner) and design one! This computer I'm on doesn't have those, it sucks, and my good computer doesn't have internet connection, something happened. I won't be able to contribute, sorry. I had a great idea! So yeah, let your imaginations go wild. Not too silly, though.
What do you want us to do? Make a bolter in paint? Your strange, but sounds interesting.... I will return!!!!!!!!!
Back from a long adventure.
How am I strange? I just thoguth it would be cool to have a little contest of who can make the coolest next gen bolter, making it look real nice, still have functionality, and stay with the theme. And maybe throw it a bit of humor, i dunno. Then I'll start a poll, if i'm able to. Or I'll ask someone else who can do it to.
Edit: By paint, I meant MS paint. And any art program in general. Hint: Use the line tool!
Ya the last bolters did suck :glare:
they should make a bull-pup variant of the bolter where the mag is behind the handle,
and they should have bayonettes like on the IG lasguns...I'll come back when i have a pic post
Hope Is The First Step On The Road To Dissapointment.
What I really want to see is new bolter fluff. In the codex, they are listed as having Deuterium cores. Who would give a bullet a gas core?
They really need to just make it something sensical like tungsten or the ever popular depleted Uranium. Hell, make it Thorium or Unununium for all I care--at least something solid!
Thorium tungsten unununium  what the hell are they have u like memorised the entire periodic table or somthin
yea the current bolter round makes no sense at all i laughed out loud first time i read that it had depleted deuterium in it :lol:some of us actually have to recall periodic table elements for school, college or university work :rolleyes:Originally posted by box@Feb 7 2005, 08:48

“Someone I know calls a Sphinx a Sphincter I really don’t have the heart to correct them
“So you want to be made feel like a small boy and dominated do you? How about you dress up as Micky Mouse and I‘ll hit you with a baseball bat until you pass out or die?
Actually, they did the same mistake in last edition Rulebook in the weapon fluff section...
--- Isn't the basic Bolt round supposed to be explosive, not a solid-core penetrator? Though I don't know how useful deuterium would be in that capacity either...Originally posted by Bean@Feb 7 2005, 09:37
In the codex, they are listed as having Deuterium cores. Who would give a bullet a gas core?
"The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all biomatter consumed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be devoured."
That's true, the rounds are supposed to explode--so perhaps a heavy solid core would be inappropriate. However, though Dueterium will explode, it certainly won't do so in a manner that will provide more than minor irritation to it's victim. Maybe just some good old plastique and an impact-activated detonator would be more appropriate? Surely that would be within the capability of the Adeptus Mechanicus.
