Hi, i am moving to tennessee this Summer and am wondering if anyone here knows places in Tennessee to game. Help. I am from a largish city in California and am afraid that it will be a major culture shock. Appreciate the help.
Welcome to Tennessee. There seem to be a few Californians migrating east nowadays. I've gotten three students this year from the Golden State.
Well, I don't know anything about West Tennessee, but I'd assume Memphis has a good gaming population.
I live in Middle Tennessee, in Murfreesboro. We game at Grand Adventures there. In Nashville (at Opry Mills) is the GW store, but it's in a HUGE mall and is itself a very tiny store. Acutally gaming there is a nightmare, with the cramped space and gawking tourists wanting to touch all your minis.
There's somewhere in Lebanon, too. The Game Keep, I think. It's largely 40K.
Chattanooga hosts a lot of the Rouge Trader Tournaments, so that seems a pretty active place, too.
Hope that helped...
Do you know where Savanna Tennessee is? It is a small town. As close to podunk as any can get. It is near Jackson Tennessee. Do you know of any places in Jackson Tenn to game. (BY using the word podunk I am not trying to offed. I am originally from mississippi so I am not a stranger to the south.)
Don't know about Savanna, Tennessee, but I do know Jackson. It's on the way to Memphis. Actually know some people there.
ANyhow, can't say for gaming. My guess is that you'll be looking at Memphis for gaming opportunities.
Don't worry about podunk. I've lived in TN my entire life, sad to say, and there are plenty of podunk places. There are some nice people, though; just don't mind the rednecks.
Damn, Memphis is a two hour drive. I guess I will be waking up early on Sundays. Living in California you get used to having everything so close. There are so many people that you can find anything you want without even leaving your town.
Hardin County !!WOOT!!WOOT!!
Knoxville will host Adventure Con this June 24 and 25. It's like a HUGE toy and comic book convention, but this year they will be hosting a big'ol gaming room too!
So, if you're in the area -- plan to swing over for a day. the two-day pass is like $10.
Check out the website for a list of the games they have lined up already: ADVENTURE CON
