Seems to me that these bands, with the sentiment on them, are trying to raise awareness and funds for those less fortunate than ourselves.

It's not the piece of rubber you're paying for, that's just symbolic.

What price do you put on helping them if £2 seems too much?

I paid my £2 but I didn't take a band. I would have worn a ribbon or something like that, but I'm not the kinda guy to walk around with a bright purple rubber band around my wrist.

Arklite: I've heard that there's people on eBay who will customise these bands for people (like painting their own designs on and stuff) that sell for £15 or so.
