I'd started another thread not too long ago regarding my desire to get out of the GW hobbies completely. That thread (which is now mysteriously missing, along with the majority of LO threads) prompted quite a few LO members to try persuading me to remain in the hobby and just cut down. I really appreciated the support, and the arguments of many of you actually convinced me to stay for as long as I could. But now, a few weeks later, I find myself confronted with the same question, and now, because I am considering getting out of the hobby again, the answer is much more clear to me.
I wouldn't still be thinking about it if I had been comfortable with my initial decision, so I have decided to abandon ship. I regret doing this, especially since there is such a great and supportive framework of gamers out there, many of whom frequent LO. I was happy and priveleged to have discussed these hobbies with all of you, but my life has simply become too busy, and my priorities have certainly shifted, given recent events in my life. I know many have tried encouraging me to hold onto what GW stuff I have, and I understand that they are speaking from personal experience when they say they regretted selling off stuff when they have considered getting out, but for me, I now know this is the right decision.
So now I have a dilemma. I have sold my painted armies to friends around here, but I still have a great deal of unassembled or unpainted GW merch and hobby material. Trust me when I say there will not be room to keep it in my life, and I must get rid of it. Of course, eBay is always an option, but I don't want to deal with the hassles of eBay if I can help it (as it would also mean selling bits and pieces of my collection at a time). Any suggestions on how someone can get out of the hobby?
I will likely post a list of the stuff I have available here in the near future, but I don't want to ship it (whole collection is heavy, even if I broke it up, and shipping on it would be hundreds of dollars alone). I know this is a long shot, but if there is anyone in Southern Ontario or the surrounding area who's interested in getting a ton of GW stuff (Tyranid army, BFG ships, old White Dwarfs, lots of codexes, rulebooks, paints, brushes, the whole nine yards), I could meet you somewhere for direct delivery. If anyone is at all interested, let me know and I can give a more detailed list of what's available in a PM. Again, my only requirement is that I don't have to send it through mail, and can get rid of at least a large portion of the collection at once, so if you meet those requirements, I'll give you a great deal on this stuff (50% off or better...most of what I'm selling now is unassembled and unpainted).
Anyway, sorry to turn this thread into a sales pitch, but I'm just kind of frustrated and want to get out of this hobby ASAP. Thanks again for your support and friendship over this past year. I wish everyone well.
Well again sorry to see you go, but if you have any IG or impirial ships I would be glad to take them off your hands and could arange to go to ontario to pick them up.

Mr. Houston, as you may notice I happen to live in the big 'ol GTA. Is that close, enough. I also happen to be a long standing Tyranid player. I'm always interested in new toys. Maybe we can figure something out.
p.s. whatever is the cause of your decision, I hope it works out.

I am truly sorry to hear that such a wonderful, intelligent, and pleasant memeber is leaving the hobby. A great loss for the gaming communities around where you live mate. But, on the other hand think about all the free cash you'll get! Lots of other stuff you can get now! Many, many CDs. I truly hope this works out for you, and that you have a terrific life. If you can, could you frequent LO occasionaly? We all really enjoy having you round, and it would be great to talk to you occasionally (or regulary!).
With kind regards, and wishing you the best of luck,
Well Houston, as you can already tell, you'll be greatly missed. Too bad I live on the other side of the continent, otherwise I'd be glad to, er... help you out. It is a wise man that can recognize and embrace a new phase of his life. Farewell, and may you be prosperous in all that you do.
