I know this is the General and Off Topic Discussion section but are we allowed to post/discuss
certain going-on's in the world that may provoke controversial yet in-depth discussions? As long as people don't get insulting/nasty that is. Or do the mods/admins prefer to just not have these discussions at all in Librarium Online? For example if I were to ask people's opinions on say, if a certain philosophical author was worth reading. Or, if I was to express my confusion at a cetain political situation. If it states somewhere in the rules that were not supposed to post these then I apologize I must have missed that. I was just wondering the limits to starting threads that may start up long arguments.
Philosophy is ok, but the political discussions are going to get locked fairly quickly.
Were you eager to expound on your discussion of Neitze?
That pretty much excludes everything you just mentioned, except for maybe philosophy, but most times philosophy gets into religion. Do not post any of those types of topics in the General Discussion area, or you get the hose again!Any threads/posts dealing with real life politics, sex or "recreational" drugs, blasphemy or theological flamewars will be locked and/or deleted

As far as Im aware, Philosophy can be ok, unless it becomes heated.
For example, asking if a certain philosophical author was worth reading would be ok, because you are attempting to find out if buying the books and reading them are worth your money and time.
HOWEVER. Talking about a philosophical authors views can be looked down upon, unless its in the Enhanced Users Forum.
Political discussions outside the Enhanced Users Forum are locked quickly.

No, just using it as an example. But a good idea. Maybe I should start a topic thread...Originally Posted by JokerI can't remember ever getting said hose. :cool:Originally Posted by EdiciusWhat is this Enhanced Users Forum and how can I get there?Originally Posted by Toastee

The Enhanced Users Forum is for Enhanced Users, you gotta be one to use it. It's like a reward for being a productive poster and not spamming or flaming or generaly causing trouble. You get to talk about stuff nobody else can talk about without recieving the buisiness end of said hose.
The Enhanced Members section is a section of the forum reserved for enhanced users, those being members who have distinguished themselves by having been around a long time and made a number of good posts. Subscribers donating to the upkeep of the forum are also granted enhanced status, as are moderators. In the Enhanced Members discussion forum the members are allowed more leeway than in the rest of the forum and can discuss subjects not allowed elsewhere, such as politics and religion.Originally Posted by numberofthebeastxxx
