The Store had 1 in yesterday becuase it was never claimed by the person who ordered it and the waiting list was at its end so I though about buying it but didnt.
I kinda want it but its not the army I collect so $130 is alot. But they are cool, I think I would ruin the great looking models becuase my poor painting skills.
24 Glade Guard
8 Glade Riders
I would only need a more models to finish it as a small army. I just want some feed back.
I have about 1500 pts of Orcs and Goblins, I need 2000 by october for the battle bunker event. I dontt hink this would interfear.
The only other issue was I was already thinking of starting an Dwarf army too and I cant do both. I was thinking of an all shooting Dwarf army. With Wood Elf I dont know. I dont think it would get much bigger than what comes in the box.
Well, one thing is for sure: if you wait longer to get the Wood Elf Battalian box the price is Not going to come down!
Seriously though, if you already have army commitments in your head, such as building up your Orcs and starting a Dwarf army, it really doesn't make sense to throw in a 3rd army you may or may not commit to collecting.
My advice is to finish your Orcs then take a serious look at whether or not to collect Dwarfs or Wood Elves. And if you are very worried about messing up the paint job then you could always buy them pre-painted on ebay.
Just my 2 cents.
Wood elves are fun to play and paint. I say buy it. Just have a plan, as Joker says, about finishing up any current projects. I was lucky that my VC army is complete (unless I go ahead and replace classic with current grave guard) and could segue into another army no problem.
$130? That's Canadian, right? Because the American one is only $100.
But anyways, if you're going to start an army that has a battalion, you might as well get it. It's the only deal that GW makes where you actually save money (around $20 USD I think). But if you're not sure about starting the army, perhaps you should wait a while and think it over, it's not like the store can't just order another one for you later.
Also, if you're seriously thinking about starting Dwarfs, I'd suggest waiting until Christmas, as that's when the Dwarfs are supposed to be getting new rules and some new models as well (probably a battalion box of their own). I would suggest boosting your Orcs and Goblins up to at least 2000 points, and hopefully by then a preview of the new Dwarf models will be out, and you can choose then.
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, even if it's wrong.
Thanks for the info SilentStorm. I heard that Dwarves would be updated, just didnt know when.
there's not enough Dryads! i've only been playing the new Wood Elves a few days and i've already developed this love affair with the Dryads! they're amazing!
sorry, that was my eco rant for today
I still hate Twiglets!
Definitely get the wood elves, but only after you get the orcs and goblins army to
2000 points, i think if you bought the wood elves now it would only hinder you from getting the orcs done. The new wood elves range looks fantastic and the dwarf range looks
a bit dated so get the wood elves over the dwarfs.
Dont worry about your painting you can never make one of the new models wood elf models look bad.
