Hey guys, this is sorta Warhammer related, yet also off-topic so anyways.... I need a cheap Digital Camera for taking pictures of small things e.g. warhammer models. I don't need a fancy one, just one for taking photos of things up-close. Any ideas? Thanks
Vivitar make a good range of entry-level digital cameras with macro capability (the ability to take close up pictures).
Any specific models? I don't know anything about cameras, what should I look out for in a camera?
I personally have the Vivitar "Vivicam 3695". It is 2 mega-pixel (3 mega-pixel interpolation) and has Macro facility, webcam capability & video record.Originally Posted by IbramGaunt
I also have a more advance Digital Video Cam (4 mega-pixel) but I still find the Vivitar produces good enough images that I do not nee to use the other one.
If you require the camera for taking close up photo's of miniatures, the Macro feature is an absolute must. You will not get good pictures, close up, of a figure without this feature.
There are various 'entry level' camera's around tese day and whilst they are basic, they still take a good photo. A 2 mega-pixel camera will produce a phot that is of good enough quality to print on A4 size paper, or fill a computer screen without noticable loss of definition.
It is also neccessay to have a decent sized (128-256mb) memory card as large, high definition pictures use a fair bit of memory.
Can you guys post sample pictures of your minis together with the name of the digicam? I'm looking for a nice camera, too.
"Do you want your heretic rare, medium or well done, Lord Inquisitor?"
Should I assume you aren't looking for a disposable digital?
Some of them are fair to decent in quality and very affordable.
Well all I want is a decent camera, not too pricey (under €100), takes decent photos, has macro function, and easy to use.
