Welcome to Librarium Online!
i was in another topic when something being talked about reminded me of my dog back home and how much miss him. so i'm just wondering about all the pets of the people here and i'm sure i'm not the only pet-crazed person. so just share your thoughts on your pets.
i have a white german shepherd-samoid (if that's how it's spelt) dog. back home, i loved playing around and wrestling with him, despite him having the tendency to shed everywhere (had to be very careful not to get dog hair all over my clothes when i was going out). i also loved taking him to the park to run with me and then chastising him when he couldn't keep up with me after 3 miles (190 minute pace) and telling him to lose weight and stick with me as his trainer and i'll take him places.
now he's around probably around 60-70ish in dog years and getting old, i'm just hoping he's still around when i get home for christmas leave from deployment.
I have two cavalier king charles spaniels - One younger than the other, and the younger one being the older's uncle:wacko: . Anyway, they're great, the older one is a lazy bugger but he's old and has a heart murmur, so we give him time to move around quickly.
The smaller one has only three legs, after an accident in a kennels led to one having to be amputated, but ironically he is the more energetic. I always find it surprising how happy he remained throughout the healing process, and the fact that he still runs and jumps at full effectiveness. It's a wonder that he even survived, as his injuries were severe, but he pulled through and healed in a fraction of the time that he was predicted (supposedly it takes up to 4 months for them to learn to run and jump again - it took him only 14 days!).
Being an animal nut, I also have a pond full of (damned expensive) Koi Carp and three lizards - two leopard geckos and a bearded dragon. The bearded dragon is tame and will sit on anyone's shoulder for hours on end, while the male leopard gecko is nearly as tame. The female is currently expecting eggs, so i could end up with five lizards in a few months time rather than three! Probably the best thing about these is the whole "gross out" moment you get when you first show someone their feeding habits (they have to be fed live crickets!), but i think it's fantastic.
The only difference between tattooed people and non-tattooed people is that tattooed people are awesome and can kick your ass.
"War does not determine who is right - only who is left."
I have 2 rats. Really cool white rats with a scorched brown spot on their noses.
(that's supposed to be there, didn't paint it on myself)
They are very curious about anything that comes in their sight and often show signs of intelligence. Their names are: Sjaan & Dumbo
Sjaan is actually full-out: Sjaan de Hark
It's a Dutch bend-off from jeanne d'Arc
"Sjaan" is just a silly name and a "Hark" is a gardening tool for loosening the soil and scraping leaves on a pile.
Dumbo is named after their special type of ears (even bigger than normal rat-ears that stand lower on the sides of their head) Those ears makes them look like total idiots.
And we have a cat called Sofietje.
Sofietje is another name that just sounds funny when you shout it all over the place trying to find that beast.
She is affraid of nearly ANYTHING!!! (even for the rats)
She sleeps on the radiator when its on. you burn your handson it, she likes it:wacko:
She is white with black patches.
There is quiet a special story about tha cat: We went to some sort of farm where they sold goose-eggs, my mother liked to empty the shells with a small pump and then paint em to look funny.(That was 13 years ago now)
Me being a little curious kid askes the woman who liver there: "What's behind that door?"
She told she had a buch of cats, and 1 of those just came walking by the other week.
It had a broken tail, was about 4 weeks old, was covered in fleas, had some sneezing desease and was really cute and tiny!
The farmwoman told it would probably die really soon, so my parents wanted to adopt it, and see how it would do.
We took it to the vet, who gave it a bunch of medicines and a flea wash, and the cat recovered pretty well.
She still has a weird tail with a fold in it, but she became mother of 4 little critters.
We gave 3 away to some friends of my parents, and kept 1. (the boy)
That one died when it was 7 years old, 'cause it somehow got shrivelled kidneys so in the last month before we gave him the syringe of everlasting peace it had all kinds of smelly infections.
We had a whole bunch of other pets, but i'm getting tired of typing.
maybe I tell of those tomorrow

I have 2 cats, one brown (brandy) and one silver/grey (shadow). I miss them, they live with my parents cause my BF's family is alergic to cats . Brandy is a scardy cat, if any one comes in the front door she'll hide behind the TV. But she's so cute, when she actualy being nice and frindly, she'll purr like a crazy animal and she chirps instead of meows. Shadow is the oposite, she the most friendly cat in the world. She won't even know who you are and come sit on your lap and watch TV with you purring like a motor boat. She also likes to eat Dark Eldar who are left out ^_^ nothing like finding a splinter cannon under the fridge 4 days later. They're both about 10 years old. Thay had another sister named Clowie (black cat) but she was eaten by an owl cause she snuck out side one night They are all inside cats cause they have long hair. They're so great I miss having them around.
Tomb Kings, Marines, Eldar
