Welcome to Librarium Online!
Reading through the recent threads I realised that there are only a few of the Enhanced members I actually know much about. Of course hints have been dropped about location and occupation, but I thought it might be a good idea to have a sort of introduction thread that gives other members the opportunity to get to know who they’re debating with. After all, living conditions have a pretty large influence on opinions and ideas.
So without further ado, here’s the ‘get to know you’ thread. I’ll start out, but it’s of course optional what you want others to know. The info below can already be found elsewhere online, so I see no problem in posting it here. Feel free to stalk me if you dare.
Name: Cecilie, although I actually do respond to Grephaun in real life too (pronounced ‘Greffen’ in Danish.)
Age: 21 years old.
Location: I live in Copenhagen, the capital city of Denmark. Right now I am of course bound here due to my attending the University of Copenhagen, but I don’t think I would ever like to live outside of a larger city regardless. I am city-born and bred; the quiet of the wild nature spooks me.
Occupation: 2½-year medical student. When I’m not attending lectures or studying on my own I usually spend my time working as a health care helper or nurse assistant at one of the local hospitals. This opportunity for welcome experience and an income apart from the governmental student support is absolutely great, and I will soon upgrade my training to include ICU shifts as well as somatic and psychiatric. I really like hospital work, it makes me feel I’m actually helping people and making a difference. ^_^
Religion: None really. Member of the National Evangelical Lutheran Church of Denmark, but haven’t been active for some years.
Political orientation: Varying. Generally left-wing, although my voting depends more on the politicians and less on their parties.
Marital status: Long-term relationship, currently also long-distance due to my boyfriend attending classes at the national sergeants’ school across country and only having weekends off. The uniform looks good on him, though.
Hobbies: Warhammer, duh! Apart from that, though, I also spend a lot of time on digital and real-media painting, and twice a year I go abroad to attend sci-fi and fantasy conventions and try to sell prints of my works for fun. I also enjoy reading a lot and have an entirely too big book collection. In my limited free time I enjoy playing role-playing games such as White Wolf and Alternity, listening to metal rock, playing classical music on flute and piano, and taking classes in martial art. Other interests include medical science, psychology, philosophy, ancient history, travelling, writing and reading fan fiction, and reading various online comics.
So that’s me. Now who’re you? ^_^

"Girls are nice and cuddly on the outside, and freaky on the inside." ~ Lost Nemesis.
Location: Ledyard, Connecticut, USA. I play wargames at Sarge's Comics, New London. My residence is in a cow town.
Occupation: I'll do yard work and such for other people, but I'm not "employed" as such.
Religion: None whatsoever, but I'm not atheist.
Political Orientation: Generally Democratic, but really, power corrupts, I just go for whoever is less corrupt when it comes ot elections.
Marital Status: None, really.
Hobbies: Swimming (hard core), Warhammer 40k, cinema and film. I enjoy Metallica, I play the saxophone for my high school band, and I go on a lot of vacations all over America.
Name: Tom. Nothing to do with insects. 'The giant mantis' is a bit on an in-joke which would take too long to explain.
Age: 21 (only just)
Location: I live in London, around the Islington area for anyone familiar with the city, though I doubt I'll be living here very long. I've lived most of my life in the countryside out near Norwich, which is where most of my family still live. I'm enjoying city life, especially the vibrancy and multiculturalism you find here, which is such a break from small town England.
Occupation: 1st year student at the School of Oriental and African studies, reading Japanese Studies. It's a very time intensive course with lots of language study, and I don't feel I could succeed and maintain a job at the same time (call me lazy if you want.) In the holidays, I'll probably wind up doing retail work, where I have some experience.
Religion: Agnostic. Despite occasionally being very opinionated (as some of you will know) I call myself a postmodernist.. I wouldn't have the faith to cling to any one idea absolutely. However, I am generally interested in religion and the way it affects people's lives, and I'm not prepared to rule out anything.
Political orientation: It varies with my mood actually, I know that's a strange thing to say. When I'm most lucid, I tend to be socially liberal, and economically right leaning.
Marital status: Single. I'm not the kind of person who needs a relationship to be happy right now, but it always helps. For this reason, I'm not too fussed about jumping at the first person who comes along, I've done that before and it never works out. I'm just waiting for someone right.
Hobbies: Warhammer, though increasingly the painting rather than the gaming, studying (yes, it sounds odd and geeky, but I love my subject, and I feel deeply privilaged to be able to do it), hanging out with friends, cooking, occasional roleplaying, strategy games (computer and some board based.. I still play chess to a reasonable standard,) skiing, reading (modern Japanese novels mostly), music (mostly electronica, but I'm quite eclectic.) Too many things to mention.

Nice thread Greph!
Name: Alex (Alexander the Great is optional )
Nicknames: Hoss, Yoss, Yassrian, Homeless, Method, Ralphy, and Nader. (I thought I'd ad this catogory).
Location: Canberra, Capital of Australia. I live in a middle class suburb, its all pretty average.
Occupation: I'm an indoor cricket umpire. Wow.
Religion: My own personal ****tail of belifes, composed of what I have seen, what I know, and my music.
Political Orientation: Left leaning, although I change around abit. In elections I will vote for the party that is the "lesser of the two evils". I support Nelson Mandela, the Dalai Lama, and Ghandi. ^_^
Marital Status: I'm trying to work up the courage to ask a girl out/decide wether I want to.
Hobbies: Rugby Union (I'm a proffesional bench warmer ), 40k, Piano, Music (especially poltically themed), Anime (favourite is Trigun) and rebelling agains the tryany of the state.
Name: Tom. Uh oh! There're two of us!
Age: 16. 17 in ... less than a month.
Location: Virginia, United States. East coast place; the Appalachians rock, I love them so much more than the Rockies.
Occupation: High school student. About to be the proud owner of a paintball business, partnered with my dad.
Religion: Don't really have one. Sort of atheist, sort of not ...
Political orientation: Whichever side of politics I happen to agree with at that moment in time. It defeats the purpose of "unity," I believe, when you split the population (in some countries) with such different views. Too many people vote on one side of politics just because they did in the past.
Marital status: Single. Unfortunately. The majority of the attempts in the past at my getting and keeping a steady girlfriend have failed pretty badly. I tend to blame it on myself, but for the most part I've been able to keep the friendships with those girls.
Hobbies: Paintball; just got back from a game an hour ago, in fact. Got a few welts. I'll be the general of a 24 hour scenario game come May, commanding 200+ people. Also, Warhammer (sort of). I'm more of a Warhammer scholar/theologist, as opposed to player; I have yet to buy and play with an actual army, instead, I just get a bunch of codecies, read them too much, and plan things for all sorts of armies. I also tend to just be online, and talk to people. My biggest hobby (or obligation, think of it as you will) is making sure my friends are okay; most generally, my female friends, not because they're weaker, but because they're more accepting of help from a male friend than my male friends are. I like to listen to music, too ... ah, well. Oh, and I am a huge soccer person; I've played since I was five years old, and I've only ever missed a single half-year season.
I know. I'm a loser.
Location: Currently I live in Middletown Connecticut, which is just south of Hartford. I moved here from Buffalo New York after living there for 22 years. I absolutely love Buffalo and I wish I could have stayed there. However, I need a job and good paying jobs aren't in Buffalo.
Occupation: I am an Insurance Underwriter. I have underwritten Medical and Dental insurance. While the job isn't exciting it pays the bills and it is honest work with good people.
Political Orientation: I hate both major parties here in America. Both have so many skeletons they could easily raise a 10,000 pt VC army. I like to think that I live "Liberal with People, Conservative with Money". I believe that that quote belonged to Lincoln, but I am not 100% on that.
Education: I graduated from SUNY Fredonia with a Bachelors for Economics and a minor in Computer Science. College was an amazing time in my life thanks to my friends and my fraternity Phi Kappa Sigma.
Religion: Presbyterian, however, I generally have trouble with a lot of Christian Dogma. I simply try to live my life as a "gentleman" and hope that living a good life get me through. Technically I believe Jesus died for my sins, does that mean I have a soul and I am going to heaven? Who knows? I very much believe in Karma.
Marital Status: Single, not seeing anybody.
Hobbies: Other then the obvious, I love nearly all sports. I currently play volleyball in a few leagues. I enjoy playing computer games. I used to mountain bike and I really hate my self for not keeping up with it.
Please visit the Votewar sub-forum, it is my baby here!!
I tend to avoid the Enhanced forum, but hey, I'm here now.
Age: Very nearly 19
Political Leanings: None
Job: TV Salesman
Education: High school graduate trying to decide what to do for college
Marital Status: Un. Don't believe in marriage. Also, single.
Hobbies: Building Warhammer armies but not playing them, writing for SFFworld (not that I've been doing much of it lately), writing fiction (not that I've been doing any of it lately), reading (not that I've been doing any of it lately), playing an online text-based RPG, playing other video games, music, movies, soup, pasta, sandwiches, Ogres, riding the bus, walking, day-dreaming, sleeping, not sleeping, other stuff.
