Hey everyone. Some of you may have noticed I haven't been about much lately, and unfortunately that's only going to continue.
I haven't played a game of warhammer all year as I've been too busy, and I think I've pretty much faded out of the hobby for the forseeable future. I find myself not having much to offer gamewise to LO these days. I've just finished my philosophy major and am going to do honours next year so I'm really getting into the whole academic thing, and thus even my time on my beloved ED has had to be sacrificed
So yeah, I may pop in every now and then at random times and say something but I just thought I've made lots of good friends here and you guys deserve better than me just suddenly disappearing one day :ninja:
So see you guys later. I've really enjoyed the discussions I've had on LO, both game related and otherwise, and I greatly respect many of the members and of course the mod and admin team. I am in no way leaving because I am upset or anything My life's just changed that's all.
Oh I see, I come back and you head for the door.
Ah well, sounds like things are going pretty well for you. Here's hoping that keeps up. Be careful out there.
Well hopefully eventually you'll find sometime, but till then. bye!

Sorry to hear you're leaving Robotnik. I have a question though - when you finish your philosophy course, what do you plan to do? Furthermore, what does it qualify you to do? It's something I've always wondered, that's all.Originally Posted by robotnik
Also, do you work at the War Memorial in Canberra? I remember one of the guys from Canberra on LO did, and it's not Yossie. Just wondering, cos I'm going there on Monday(7 hour drive ) - might see you there (presuming you do work there ).
Ahhh mate. That pretty much leaves me now as one of the Original Aussies from the founding of the Anzac Clan, and one of the Original Canberrans.
But mate, its good to hear your going well. Keep up the thinking. This world needs more people like you. And besides, I might play you Woden someday.

Thanks guys. May your victories be plenty and your enemies weak and puny!Indeed it is me. And I'll be at work on monday until 1pm. I work in the research centre (library) downstairs. I'm the guy with the longish hair, if you get close enough to see my staff pass it says "James Spence." Say hi if you're confident enough to approach a stranger like that (I probably wouldn't be! )Originally Posted by dr_nick22
As to the philosophy thing, after I get my honours I can do a PhD, so I guess I would then be an actual philosopher (Dr. Robotnik  ) teaching at a university. I don't know if that's what I want to do though.
Alot of my friends work for the government (not surprising seeing as I'm in Canberra) and they tell me that philosophy graduates are very rare and valued in policy making areas. It's a hard discipline and I'm actually quite proud of myself. You meet a great many flaky people at universities who are studying philosophy in first year or studied it for a while and dropped out, but hardly any graduates who actually have a philosophy major.
Places like the Dept. of Foreign Affairs snap up philosophy graduates as they know they are trained to think about all aspects of a problem, and think "outside the box." At least that's what they tell me. Hopefully I don't end up at Maccas hey?
Damn, I think we get there around 3. We're leaving at 7, and It's a 6-7 hour drive, so I don't think I'll be able to catch you. Oh well, I guess I wont get to meet you then .Originally Posted by robotnik
I'm also considering working in the department of foreign affairs in...oh, 7 years or so? If you get a job there, I could see you there I want to do a law/asian studies or law/international studies degree, so I can work in the department of foreign affairs and trade. (Maybe even overseas - Japan preferably, becuase I speak the language and I've been there before )
But I'm half-way through year 10 at the moment, so that's a fair way away yet
Good bye robotnik I didn't know you that well but our debate on the enhanced forum showed me you were one of the good guys.
Maybe Lo will beckon in the future.
