Hello all i was wondering whats happened to warseer? i haven't been able to get on the site for a few days, has anyone else got this prob?
hmm, weird, it worked this very morning for me. no it doesn't work for me right now, and i dont know what's happening, but at least you know that you aren't alone
Perhaps warseer finally collapsed under its own size, like portent? I have been waiting for that to happen for a while now, and especially the timing of warseers dissapearance doesent surprise me. Scanned pictures from WD and all other sorts of copyrighted information was floating around like garbage, the member count was staggering, and the amount of spam produced on the site was enormous. My guess is that warseer was either taken of the net to avoid law suits, or simply because it ran out of server space like portent.
I sure am happy that we have the best mods of the interweb right here on LO to keep the discipline up and the spammers and spackers down, without them LO would undoubtably suffer a similar fate. Praise our mods!
Crap, Warseers down?
I'm guessing we'll find out soon.

Theres a message up now saying its under construction and it will be back soon though it doesn't look very warseerish.
I have had the same problem for days also. I hope it comes back soon, otherwise I will have to post messages here on LO. One thing I do like about LO is the pictures that can be published here. As you can tell this is my first post on LO and might make this my primary message board for now on. :shifty:
About a year ago, when Portent itself self-destructed, we found several threads appearing here from brand new members. These were of the nature of exchanging information and rumours about when Portent might be resurrected.
However, several of those posters did not contribute anything of value to LO, they were just using it as a temporary lifeboat until Portent managed to scrape itself back into life in the guise of Warseer. Some (not all) had an arrogant and dismissive attitude which left little doubt that they saw LO (and no doubt other forums that were being exploited in the same way) as only good for exchanging messages while their own Forum was out of commission.
We should and already do welcome new members that contribute and add to the diverse wealth of skills and knowledge here on LO. When Portent collapsed, we gained some excellent new members, who have stayed and still contribute superb quality posts to our Forum.
Check out this thread (Whats The Librariam Online Community Like?) for an insightful history lesson.
So, I am going to suggest an new ongoing policy with regard to newcomers from now on. I don’t see why we here on LO, who are justifiably proud of the Forum and the way it is run, should have to put up with posters who effectively belittle us and insult us by insinuation. From here on in, if a NEW member proves to ONLY be posting messages about Warseer and when it might be coming back, AND shows a negative attitude towards Librarium Online, then those posts are likely to be deleted and restrictions imposed against that members account. I will take this up with my fellow Moderators, of course, but I say again, why should LO be regarded as a mere temporary substitute for Warseer?

Ryan Dancey, Vice President of Wizards of the Coast, believed that TSR failed because of "...a near total inability to listen to its customers, hear what they were saying, and make changes to make those customers happy." Are you listening, Games Workshop ?
Hey sorry i didn't mean to offend, i have been thinking of joining LO for awhile now anyway and have been browsing about, so just for the record i'm not here just to ask about warseer. However in response to the previous post, surely the mods must realise that people like to know whats going on and before i posted on here there was no other information i could find, so although people just going to your site for this may be a tad irritating, think how your patrons would feel if LO suddenly went down with no notice. Hopefully though this will not be the case and hopefully if people come here they will stay and contribute properly too. However the forums atleast seem to be back up so, it shouldn't be the case that too many people come here just for that anyway.
