We all know quotes from places, we do it ourselves and take it out of a film or a book; so what quotes do you think have had an effect on things? It's rather vague I know but this stems from a conversation with a friend about TV series and quotes we could remember.
So, What quotes do you think have had an effect on the world/your country/you?
Anything from poems, to novel, to films, celebrates, to TV shows.
"Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!"
- If by Rudyard Kipling
"A man may fight for many things. His country, his friends, his principles, the glistening ear on the cheek of a golden child. But personally, I'd mud-wrestle my own mother for a ton of cash, an amusing clock and a sack of French porn. "
They might be funny or what.. oh screw it.. just fling in quotes no matter what [except if they're from a friend.. ]
"Everything in life happens for a reason, you just have to learn to deal with it." - Kyle Ithal
"Live for today, tomorrow is no garuntee." Jenn Quinn

"But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep."
-Robert Frost, stopping by the woods on a snowy evening.
I often find myself remembering this quote to wake myself up if I am fatigued while writing a particularly lengthy article or doing some other extensive project.
Ask yourself why in the world would you trust a win loss record? Playing them yourself is the only way to tell.
The true joy in the game is playing down to the last model, no matter the odds.
"he who fights and runs away, may live to fight another day"-no idea who said it
"knowledge is power"-DoW, this one i believe in much more than the first, as you can still be killed if you run away, but if your knowledgeable, then you can think of something different, and it may save your life some day
"To disagree with three fourths of the public on all points is one of the first elements of sanity." --Oscar Wilde
"Those who see any difference between the body and the soul have neither." --Oscar Wilde
"Poetry is a way of taking life by the throat." --Robert Frost
"Poetry is the music of the soul, and, above all, of great and feelings souls." --Voltaire
"Listen to the flesh.
It is far truer than poems."
Unknown but from a book titled Erotica and edited by Margaret Reynolds.
"I may not agree with what you have to say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." -Voltaire
Spring is nature's way of saying, 'Let's party!'" -Robin Williams
"Winter is nature's way of saying, 'Up yours.'" -Robert Byrne
"Shut up, Ross!" -My whole wrestling team at one point or another (I'm not Ross)
Heh, i'm pretty sure DoW weren't the first to coin this well known phrase. Google seems to think it was a guy called Sir Francis Bacon, not that i claim to know anything about him^_^Originally Posted by The Count
