    750pts, using battleforce

    so i've begun fantasy after some thought and went with ogres. i like having big guys with lots of wounds. my hobby shop has atleast one or 2 people playing each army, so you never quite know what you'll be fighting. i'm trying to use models from the battleforce, just to learn the basics and then advance into larger battles and such.

    Hero
    (general) Bruiser- Spangleshard, Greedyfist, Great Weapon, heavy Armour

    Core
    6 Bulls- Ironfists, Bellower
    3 Ironguts- Bellower
    22 Gnoblar Fighters

    Special Units
    2 Leadbelchers

    Total: 750pts

    i'm converting one of the 4 ironguts in the set to be the bruiser, and he'll be in their unit in-game. not sure if it's better to get light armour on bulls or the fists, or neither? the 2 gnoblars that make the gnoblar unit 22 were point filler. i don't know much besides what i've read here on the forum and what games i've watched at my shop, so advance would be wonderful, thanks.

    nice list,my only critisism is that for 750pts you should split the buuls into 2 units of 3 then put them back to a unit of six when your army gets up to around 1500pts.

    yeah two units of 3 bulls is better and Its a battalion not a battleforce.The 40k in you is creeping back quick through a bull at it

    I personally feel like the Ironfist is a cool and completely pointless option. It only provide an extra save in close combat as a shield, and it cannot be combined with the ogre club for the additional +1 save from hand weapon and shield. So, I found that using the Extra Hand Weapon as the only upgrade to my bulls to be the most worthwhile, mainly because I was always using my Ironfist as an extra hand weapon anyways.

    Other than that, I'd agree with the previous comments. 2 units of 3 instead of 1 unit of 6. You get a full extra unit to maneuver with and really only lose out on +1 strength on the Bull Charge (assuming you run them 2x3).

    as a shield its not very good because bulls don't have any army to begin with unless you buy it, but then its only light armor, your probably aren't ever going to get the save with both

    as an extra attack its not worth it because you lose the effect of the ogre club making it easier for your opponent to survive the attack thus ruining the point of the extra attack
