Welcome to Librarium Online!
I just recently started buying my first Fantasy army, Ogre Kingdoms, and have been working on a list I want to field for an upcomming event in about 2 months at my local store. I don't have a really good point of refrence for what to field, but from the suggestions of others this is what I came up with.
CORE UNITS (5)
3x Brace of handguns
So obviously I have a little room to work with. I was thinking maybe a Wyrdstone Necklace for my tyrant. Currently I have 10 bulls, 4 belchers, 24 gnoblars and 1 tyrant assembled. I have another batallion box to put together, so instead of 6 bulls I have the pieces to put together 6 Ironguts.
I really like the ability to lay down some support fire to reduce ranks from the Hunter, Maneaters, and Belchers. My favorite piece is the Hunter, and I really want to use him.
I have a few questions: How important is Ogre magic? How viable is the Slave Giant?
Thanks ahead of time for the help.

Welcome to LO! Enjoy your time here, read the Rules, and if you have any questions, you know where to find me.
To your list, it seems perhaps a little character-empty. Not too much of a problem though. Personally, I love the Tenderiser on my Tyrant (if he gets into contact with a big, scary character, he should well kill it. I've crushed several unwary characters in challenges this way), but Siegebreaker is cool too, especially if you're not up against many Elves or Skaven, and face lots of Saurus, Orcs, and/or Dwarfs. Unfortunately, he can't be given a Dispel Scroll, due to it being an Arcane item (people take Butchers just to get them, and it can work out pretty well), and a support item and a Ward save always benefit him. So the Wyrdstone Necklace, whilst risky (come on, it's evil incarnate), should be a good investment, and maybe an Enchanted Item would work out well (like the Laurels or the Rock Eye).
Your Hunter would probably be best with the Longstrider name, especially since he has two Sabretusks with him (so he can keep pace with them).
To the rest of your list, I think you could use some Ironguts. My recommendations would be to drop one each from the Leadbelchers, and drop the Bulls back to four or five, possibly with Ironfists. That should give you enough points for a unit of four Ironguts (or three, but if you can take four, I strongly suggest you do so).
In fact, you may have too many units of Bulls. Maybe even drop one unit(and try get two units of Ironguts- massed S6 attacks is nice stuff), since they can be pretty bland in all honesty. The Leadbelchers get cannons, the Ironguts get huge weapons, and the Maneaters are just cool, but Bulls generally aren't all that amazing.
If you can get the points for a Gorger or two, take one (or two, if you drop the Maneaters). They're incredibly nasty for their points cost.
To answer your questions, OKs magic can be rather dodgy at times, but it makes up some of the best support magic in the game imo. If used well in conjunction with your troops, it can be a game winner. Butchers are incredibly popular for this reason.
Slavegiants generally aren't that great, since they can be a bit of a liability due to not having Stubborn. Most other Giants don't have to worry about losing combats, but you may have to look at getting support for a Slavegiant if you run him into a fully ranked up unit.
Thanks for the response. I spent last night reading about O.K. tactics and whats what about the army. So i'm posting a new army list, something a bit more rounded. I'm adding Ironguts, gorgers, and a butcher. I'm taking out some Leadbelchers (missfire is bad), and maneaters to make up the points. I also decided to go with the tenderiser over the seigebreaker, overall I think its a better weapon. So heres the new list.
Big Name Mawseeker
Longstrider Big Name
I want Gorgers because I like their ability to take down forces that I might never be able to reach on my own. It was tough dropping the maneaters for them, but overall Gorgers should be a better decision. The Leadbelchers were dropped to 3 to a squad to help reduces missfire mishaps.
So sorry I changed my list so quick, but due to my research I saw a few things I did wrong, and thanks for pointing out that non-arcane people can't have dispel scrolls.
