My brother is starting ogres and would like to play games at the 1250 level like most people at my local store. I've written up a list and would like some help with it, as I'm not so great with ogres but I am more experienced at fantasy then him.
He wants a list that can be made from the battalion, and with this one you need to buy the characters, ironguts and the gorger which isn't too much. He likes ogres the most and would like to be successful with them although it isn't too hard at our store, the people we hang out with my brother has a decent chance of beating them even though he's pretty new to the fantasy game. He's not new to the hobby with a large amount of 40k and is a good painter and converter, all he needs is help with the gaming section as he doesn't play fantasy.
The list looks quite good.
Maybe change the cookbook for the bangstick but otherwize it looks fine.
Another option is (it 'get more expensive) to drop 1 bull and the cookbook for 1 more irongut and then make 3 units of 3 ironguts for heavy MSU style.(you should have the points for a bellower.....)
You have STRONG magic and combat so you'd be able to hard charge, your leadbelchers could take care of a big unit and there's enough magic to cast trollguts and sorts.
You could use gnobler fighters as trappers and fit them in somehow cause they really rock!
Thanks for the reply. I'll convey that to him but he's trying to use a list that uses what comes in the box.
