1500 pts Ogres-Mercenaries theme

Going to make an Mercenary company themed army. Kind of like the Golden Company from Song of Fire and Ice series, having a lot of imagery from Rh'llor (A fire god). I plan on using the maneater paymaster model as my slaughter master and converting a model to be in full plate to be my bruiser.

I'm worried I've spent too much on characters though. I have heard sabre tusks are awesome, should I drop and take a couple?

i think giving your poisoned attacks and sniper will make the ogre pistols more worth it. Maybe get a butcher instead of the slaughtermaster to save points and spend those on more bulls or leadbelchers because they are inase when you've got lots of them. Also, i'd consider a dispel scroll. I know its getting away from the golden company theme but personally however, i'd get rid of the firebelly and have a butcher, level 2 and a dispel scroll. Then having your main lore on the slaughter master and a minor lore on the butcher. (of course one does have to be the maw). Got enough points for a few sabertusks? if you have take them, they'll more than likely make their points back!

I don't know anything about Golden Company theme so if any of these pointers conflict then ignore them.

WAY too many points in characters at 43%. Drop both the Firebelly and BSB or at least the Firebelly (BSB more useful with small units prone to panic). Upgrade SM to level 4 - always.

Switch GW on Maneaters for more BoP and switch the captain for a musician. Odds are you'd rather flee than receive a charge with these guys (depending on circumstances). GW are good with a unit that has size enough to swing back. GW are not good against most things you'll encounter in them there back woods like WM crews, fast cav, other skirmishers. You may only have one chance to snipe that weedy mage so make sure you get the job done.

Beef up the core with the extra points.

I really want the firebelly, if I had to choose just one mage it would be him. I do see that I have way too many points on characters, should I drop the bruiser or the slaughtermaster? Here's what either would look like.

Sabertusks are good unless you face slugtongue like what happened to a friend of mine and he lost 4 wounds to Famine-Fiend, made it pretty useless and was killed by a chariots impact hits.
