I finally got my battalion and im thinking of turning two of the LB'ers into IG's and I was wondering from and army list point of view if its worth putting standards in three man units. Thanks in advance.
Arg, I didn't mean to put this in the army list section. If anybody could move it plz do so.

truly i wouldent take a standard with units of three maybe bigger like units of eight or so for main strength but for three it can be point comsuming, i would jsut take a bellower and maybe a champion if you have some points left over.
I don't like it for two reasons. It consumes a lot of points, and it gives a lot of VPs to the enemy when you lose them. It might cost you approx. 15 points to purchase, but it costs you 100 VPs to lose to the enemy. And since small units often evaporate (which is why you want lots of them), those banners are frequently dropped.
First of all I recommend you turning two Bulls into Guts instead. Leadbelchers are actually a powerful and useful unit to have.
As for the question at hand, it is only worth taking a standard in a 3-ogre unit to get a lookout gnoblar for when you have a character riding along.

Arisen, You mentioned the HE striking first. Let us not forget we have a very potent weapon in our arsenal against the HE first strike. Our bull charge. If the HE lose 4 men in their front rank on our charge, they dont have much to strike first with. ;Y
