My ogre army does okay but I think you will know how to make it better.
    Here is what I own:
    Tryant
    Bruiser with BsB
    2 butchers one with bangstick
22 bulls with 2 hand weapons 3 standards and 3 musicians
9 ironguts with 2 standards and 3 musicians
    35 gnoblars
    4 lead belchers
    3 yhettes
    2 gorgers

if you could help me mold that into a 2250 point list i would be in your debt.

    Thanks
    That's right, llamas can parachute.

you sir have the beginings of a standard list without a doubt. Remember the following is of my own personal opinion and thus is as close to fact as possible

Tyrant : Lots of builds My personal fav is
    Tenderiser
    Mawseeker
    jade lion

Makes him nice and thick (If you toothcrack him he is immune to str 3!!!!)

Bruiser: BSB why else would you take a bruiser. No real build i can give you as ive never really played with an ogre BSB before. If you dont give him a magic standard (warbanner being the only half decent one) then you can give him a seigebreaker or some such thing.

    Butcher 1: Bangstick Dispell Scroll

Butcher 2 : Seigebreaker, SKullmantle. or SKullmantle DIspell scroll or just scroll caddy

    Core:

Bulls:x3 Either Naked or XHW. Lets face it. Bulls suck. either use them to munch T3 troops or to eat bow fire so other things dont (Im happier losing bulls then gnoblars cuz gnoblars kill more for me )

IronGuts: I like to run 3 units in a 2k game. i would run 3 units of 3

Gnoblars : You have enough for a unit of 25 and a unit of trappers. Nough said

Belchers : For some reason even seasoned opponents fear them. Use em to irritate and blow tiny little elf chunks around.

    Gorgers: Freaking amazing. Take 2

All in all with those models my list would be

Tyrant: Tenderiser,Mawseeker,Jadelion,Brace of handguns (BoH optional. i just like to model them)Heavy armor

    Bruiser: BSB,Heavy amror, Seigebreaker

    Butcher1: Bangstick, Scroll

    Butcher2Kullmantle Scroll

    Bulls1: XHW unit of 3

    Guts1: unit of 3

    Guts2: Unit of 3

    Guts3: Unit of 3

    Gnoblar FIghers: Unit of 25

Gnoblar trappers: unit of 8(bump up to 10 if you have the spare points)

    Leadbelcher1: Unit of 2. Bellower

    Gorgersx2

That right their should be the beginings of a good list and you should be able to fill in the gaps from their (Adding/removing standards and such). If you can get your hands on a scraplauncher you couldnt go wrong. Hope that helps

For some reason I feel like I asked this question before, but I looked and din't find an answer.

A lone ogre, say your tyrant. It says he can pivot any time during a charge, even if its to pivot first then charge. Does he still need to see the unit in his front 90 degrees at the start, or if a units behind me, can I turn around and charge them?

first off, thanks Loki for the gnobby horde list. i know its a bit belated but i havent really had time for much of anything lately. today was my first game since i last posted. i lost, which brings me to my question.

what do you(everybody) think of the scraplauncher. with todays game and my previous matches, i found my self being outgunned, and i was thinking that the scrappy could be useful for softening up ranged units, as they tend to have lower saves and the like.

also, i was wondering if i could get suggestions on my army. here is where it stands as of now.

    Bruiser:HA, Tenderiser, Luck Gnoblar
Butcher: 2 Dispel scrolls/Dispell scroll and bangstick
    Hunter:2 Sabertusks, Siegebreaker, Mawseeker

    5 bulls: Ironfists
    4 ironguts: bull standard
    24 gnoblars

    2 leadbelchers
    2 leadbelchers

thats it for now. im planning on getting 2 more squads of ironguts, a tyrant, 2 gorgers, and possibly a scraplauncher to finish off my army. it would be roughly 2500 points. thanks for any help

Lone ogre's move as monsters so yes he still needs the 90 degree LoS in order to charge (pre pivot)

I love my scraplauncher. Just remember its one of the hardest hitting chariots on a charge.

As for your list. Fact of life mate is that Hunters are pure anus. Trade him out for a butcher with a Seigebreaker and a SKullmantle. Will actually come out cheaper since your not paying for tusks.

If you give me what points level your playing at i can help you optimize a bit

thats just what i wanted to hear about the scrappy. it will most likely be my next purchase.

yeh, ive continually realized that hunters are cursed. they're ridiculously misleading though. they're one of the coolest models (IMO), and their stats look amazing on paper. i kinda wish now that i'd bought a scrappy/unit of ironguts instead, but its too late. i'll just have to live with the fact that my friend rolled 5 out of 6 6's to wound on a stand and shoot, thus ending my hunters sad saga once again.

anyway, i digress. i mostly play at the 1000-1500 point bracket, as my group has had an influx of new players, and i am some what new myself. my army is at roughly 1400 if i use everything, upgrades included. and for the record, im stuck with 5 bulls since i converted one of them into a butcher.

hope this gives you something to work with.

Scraplaunchers kick ass but away from the general, it will lose most leadership tests it takes. Ld 5 is the pits.

But the model is an absolute bitch to assemble. It has more bits than any other WHFB model, I guarantee you. It's obnoxious to assemble and paint.

    Bruiser:HA, Tenderiser, Luck Gnoblar
Butcher: 2 Dispel scrolls/Dispell scroll and bangstick
    Hunter:2 Sabertusks, Siegebreaker, Mawseeker
I disagree with Loki. Drop the hunter for a second butcher instead of a tyrant or even another brusier. The added magic will help you offensively and defensively.

Also, you have only one butcher listed, and it has one too many magic items. Or did you mean for that to be two butchers?

    5 bulls: Ironfists
    4 ironguts: bull standard
    24 gnoblars
Eh, I'd take 3 bulls with extra handweapons and a musician. Then I'd plump for more Iron Guts somehow, even if had to shed some gnoblars for now (you can always add the little gits later)

    2 leadbelchers
    2 leadbelchers
I like this, but expect some misfires.

The additions sound like smart ones.

yeh i was reading up on the scrappy last night, and one is definately going to be in my army soon. its just pure gnobby goodness in a can.

meh, i hate to think i wasted 35 bucks, but the general, and personal for that matter, concensus seems to be that hunter suck. that being said, does anyone know how to convert it into a tyrant?

the butcher was listed with the different possible sets i take him with, depending on who im playing. sorry if it confused you.

and only hand weapons on the bulls? i didnt realize 3 points made that much of a difference.

if i end up only using 3 bulls, i might be able to convert the other 2 into butchers/ironguts with a little work

iv'e misfired plenty with my leadbelchers, but the ocassionaly misfire is worth it when an entire squad of dragon princes falls to the hail of projectiles that 20 shots brings

and this is a bit off topic, but do you think that the hunter would be any better in a game with lots of terrain? longstrider + sword of might could be good, but knowing the hunter, he would die before he got into combat.

Not to nitpick Dave ma boy but how is that different then what i said O_o. Im an adamant supporter of as much Gutmagic as you can possibly fit in a list. Granted i am toying around with a single bruiser as a standard bearer in my SKrag list as ive found 4 Bonecrunchers a turn Can be counterproductive (gets tough to cast).

Fact of life that kinda sucks is you pretty much need at least 2 butchers for ogre's to really function at all. Seems as if GW made ogre's cost so damned much to ballance out the grand effect Gastromancy has. THo in typical GW fashion they took it to far (they either overnerf or overbuff. Never in moderation).

    Bruiser: HA, Tenderiser, Luck Gnobbo
Butcher: Scroll, Bangstick (THIS IS MA BOOMSTICK)
    Butcher: Seigebreaker Skullmantle

Try that out. SHould be to much Gutmagic for alot of armies to deal with.

To further Improve your list what opponents do you usually face?

O and as a bonus ill toss in the 10 OK Commandments

    1. Thou Shalt limit thy bulls to three and take as many ironguts as possible.

    2. Thou shalt use at least 2 butchers.

    3. THou Shalt take two gorgers or take none at all.

    4. Thou shalt honor and obey THe Scraplauncher. It is amazing

    5. Thou shalt use gnoblar trappers as they rock

    6. Thou shalt not use hunters or your children will be born crosseyed

    7. Thou shalt admit that sharpstuff kills everything Toughness 5 or below with extreme effectiveness

    8. Thou shalt relalize that Skragg +3 butchers makes people weep

    9. Thou shalt never beat skaven. Its a fact. deal with it

    10. THou shalt not honor any Tyrant other then loki. Or he will make passes at thy lady friends and sister
