For what it's worth, the Scraplauncher is probably the one warmachine that has nothing to fear from your run-of-the-mill war-machine hunting fast cavalry or flyers.

For its points is Friggin amazing. Its a chariot that launches a large killing blow template every turn it moves. Lets not forget Chariots cannot march so what the hell else are you gonna use it for if you don't have a charge. Second it is Toughness 5 with 5 wounds and a 4+ save. Its Hard to remove once in combat as long as you keep it within range of your Tyrants LD. It also kicks out 3 Attacks that are the same str as most armies great weapons (and goes before them) and 6 attacks that are just icing on the cake. Well that and the d6 impact hits.
Scrappy is one of the best units in the OK books and hands down the best special choice. i would even go so far as calling it one of the hardest hitting chariots in Warhammer.
P.S. if your taking enough bulls to get a +1 str bullcharge then you sir are wasting points in a serious way. Break them into 2 units and you will be much happier.
P.S.S. Your not allowed to post points costs. May want to remove it before an admin reads it =X
In Summarry refer to my OK 10 commandments.

Just gaved the example of what could be bought, to be frank, i never had more than 3 bulls...
And I'm afraid i didnt explained my self as good as i should. I play only 1k to 1.5k pt matches so far. So I wanted to say that on that big list it can be a bit too expensive to lead (expecialy since i have dworves, elves and chaos/lizards/empire as a opponent) and it get a lot of aggro and shooting on it from the first round... but on a larger lists, I would definitly take it.
I believe there is some kind of rule for chariots. Str 7 = instant kill or something. Are there many units for Scraplauncher to fear because of that? Both in casual play and competetive tournament lists?

Scraplaunchers are indeed vulnerable to this rule. Against gunlines, I tend to use them relatively cautiously as pretty much all Artillery will have no trouble with it, although there are some characters out there that will take down chariots with no difficulty at all (the feared JSoD springs to mind).

Didnt mean to imply that the scrappy was flawless.
But on that train of thought lets take a look at the scrappy and its weaknesses.
It has the best stock armor save the book has to offer.
The entire army fears cannonballs like one's hiding under the bed.
Has problems with LD when not near the general
Low WS
Low I
High Points cost.
It suffers from the same flaws the entire army must toil under. The only one thats extra is the insta pop from Cannonballs which lets face it are gonna rip anything in the army to shreds. All in all what else can you purchase in the book thats a better value other then mabe Gorgers. When it comes down to it anything gnobler is whats best in the book hands down.
Now it does require finesse and against a gunline army id rather the ball slam my scrappy and leave my nice big fat irongut unit alone.

overtyrant loki, i seek your advice!
I really like ogres, they're the coolest army by about 10 times, but i've heard they're weak, and i really don't want an army that can't win. that said, i do like a challenge.
stuff: i like more than everything else:
hunters, trappers, butchers, yhettes, gorgers, rhinox riders (cheating i know), scraplaunchers.
so, is it a good idea to get ogres? what should i buy?
I got a question for ya OverTyrant
I see you suggesting units of 3 Ironguts. I haven't had much luck with them at three strong. As I am just starting out with Ogres and all, my failures could just be that fact, or that out of the 10 players we have at my store there are:
3 High Elves (Not too bad but combat rez seems to fall out of my favor fast with ASF and more Great weapons than you can shake a stick at)
1 Daemon (Blood Thirster is all I have to say)
1 WoC (Nothing too bad I can always seem to put up a fight, win or loss)
2 DE (They must have a copy of the Core Rulebook I can't find....It seems to read as Monsterhammer...)
2 VC (both won't play without the hit on 2+, regen, Graveguard block of doom)
1 Skaven (I know the stigma here so he has agreed to play me as other armies so we can at least get in a good game)
Anyways, back to the point, when I end up running units of 3 they never seem to do enough damage to even out the Big 5+opponents wounds. Would my opponents armies have anything to do with that?Or is it just my bad luck?
Would you advise running them as 4 wide at any time? Or is that just overkill and a waste of points?

well ogres are prob the weakest army that have not been removed from play. Saying that you can win and win alot with them as long as your not playing in a tourny. In friendly games you can do pretty well. I have actually never lost a game with my ogre's in a non tournament setting. That being said ive never won a game in a tournament setting.
And Rhinox Riders are Legal as long as Ghark Ironskin is your general as of last years grand tournament packet.

Thats just Ogre's. Games are never close. Crush or be crushed. As odd as it sounds Ogre's and Bretonia share the same exact creed. Destroy them in a single round on the charge or lose the game.
The Monsterhammer DE shouldnt be to bad if you run the tenderizor. It tends to eat their soul in a rather radical way. Just make sure you keep your buffs on.
Vampire counts you just cant win against without the dice gods help.
Skaven.... dont need to say much here i think.
HE cause alot of problems due to ASF. My suggestion is to keep toothcracker going. Makes Spearmen need 6's to wound. Take a Tyrant with Mawseeker and toothcrack him. Bam now he is immune to all HE bowshooting and Closecombat Sans Greatweapons and Bolt Throwers. Puts him at T7 which cannot be wounded by str3.
Long story short mate the people you play against are for the most part playing high tier armies compared to the lowest tier in the game (Ogre's and due to power creep Bretonia).

Looking at OK. What are some 2000pt layouts you have? Build me an army!
