Welcome to Librarium Online!
I have been using the most rediculous clip art for my Gut Magic Markers. It's a little embarassing but I needed something quick and it was the easy.I know many O&G players that use the red arrows and reminders for animosity and charge declarations. It would be neat to have somethig a little nicer and easier/faster to use than some minute pieces of paper.
I was wondering what other people use. Do you guys use the markers in the back of the book? have you made your own markers? If so what did you use? If someone else made markers would you buy them?
My self I am thinking of basing on 20mm bases...
Toothcracker: Tiny rocks made from cork or just picked up from the side of the road(have to get a bottle of wine on the way home tonight! :drinking
BullGorger: Beastmen skulls from skeleton sprues
Trollgutz: Maybe the intestine bit from the Zombies
I used to play VC so I think I have these bitz. If not I guess I will have to try something else.
I've finally made my markers this weekend - haven't gotten round to painting them yet though. I just got tired of always having to write down which unit had which spell on it.
Some pics of the leftover bitz I used from some ogre sprues :rofl. I made 3 of each.
toothcracker - the big tooth-like cup
bullgorger - the piece of meat
trollguts - the champion gutplate
I like arisen devil's idea. I printed off the names, copied them into a table on MS Word, and cut them apart. That's what I use, but using the basic bits, that would look good and be easy (easy being necessary for a non-converter like me).
i need to get motivated and make some. So far ive just been doing it from memory. While it can be difficult its also good for keepin the ol' noodle sharp
Looking for help with your Ogre kingdoms. Need help against them? have burning questions about life or why Dave's Avatar is so creepy. Feel free to stop by and ask OverTyrant Loki
My solution is a bit more elaborate but it works well and keeps things well defined. On the GW website there is a page where you can print off Gut Magic cards. It has the spell description and then a picture of the Great Maw so you can cut out the cards and glue them back to back. I have two sets for each Butcher. I have not needed more as my Butchers have never cast the same spell three times on different units, usually don't need the second set but it may come up once in a while. The cards are printed off on three different colors of paper(red, green, blue) or you could just color them with marker, crayon, or whatever you like. Then I paint the edge of my Butcher bases in red, green, and blue. Now I have 2 sets of spell cards for my red Butcher, 2 for my green Butcher, etc.. When I cast a spell I just put the card behind the unit. Now I can tell which Butcher cast which spell on which unit. It really doesn't take much time or effort. Just print, cut, glue, laminate(if you like), and paint the edge of your Butcher bases. Opponents like it too because they can tell who cast what on who just by looking at the cards.
Do you have a link to the cards? I can see this being a popular idea.
@ arisen: Here at work I can't see the pics of your markers. I work at a school and most pictures are filtered out. I will have to check them out when I get home.
I just put a small die on each of the tokens - a 1 for my regular butcher, a 2 for my pirate butcher and a 3 for my trenchcoat butcher . That's also an easy way to keep track of the spells
GW Online : Warhammer : Ogre Kingdoms : Gut Magic Cards
This is the webpage. For some reason I can't get it to come up as a link.
Edit: O.K. I take that back. Evidently the link does work. It is to an official GW site so hopefully this does not break any forum rules. If it does, then please delete.
