This is kind of embarassing, but I've lost 3 of 3 games to Dark Elves recently. Mind you, I've had incredibly bad dice, all at my own house, too.
Even so, it seemed foreordained that I'd lose.
Dark Elves should be easy to beat. What am I missing?
What about the dark elves is beating you? If you let us know that we can help figure out what is going wrong. It shouldn't be too hard, their armor is lackluster at best, so your charges should easily break them. Perhaps their shooting is putting dents into your lowly armored ogres?
Try to give us a rundown of the list you and your opponent are running. Mabe we can give you some insight.
Also as stated above whats giving you trouble. Im guessing the Chariots as they are mean as hell.
Looking for help with your Ogre kingdoms. Need help against them? have burning questions about life or why Dave's Avatar is so creepy. Feel free to stop by and ask OverTyrant Loki
I recommend going into hiding for a couple of months and waiting for the new book to come out. Then play him again and if things don't go better we can discuss it.
I haven't played DE with my Ogres yet but I can see why they would give Ok troubles. RBX means lots of shooting. Chariots and CoK mean fear causing fastish heavy hitters, Fast Cav with shooting, scouts to march bock, decent magic...
All in all it's possibly a tough match up.
Well i play both ogres and DE,
now im not too sure what is your problem but im just going take a stab in the Dark, (Dark elf that is)...
Anyway, ive had my drops and ups with both armies and i find with such a army such as dark elves is the best fix is well, lead belchers:
+3 to wound and mostly no amour saves you'll be swimming in kills, and its helps against the shooting kind as well, but again im going with no guild so im just going to talk on about things which just might help.
If Magic is your problem you'll might need theif stones, banner of moving magic to other unit (cant remember) and maybe if your feeling like spending lots of points a dispel scroll, i always find that though im not protected from physical attacks (though T4 and 3W its not the end of your units) its a load off my mind having ingoring armour magic missles launched onto my gnoblars instead of my large unit of ironguts.
I find if flankings are harming your tribe its better to get things to distrupt rather than taking them on, trappers, gnoblar units, hunters and one of my favourtie Yhettees are all good for taking on sneaky harpies, dark riders and shades.
Shooting i find more of a take on tactic either with, gorgers from the flanks and rear, Yhetees hiding with cover until time to attack and good old fire power with leadbelchers and gut magic..
well im tired of typing. G night every body
