I have heard people hate and love bulls im slitly confused on weather to get them or not
nah go Ironguts all the way
I voted yes.
The humble Bull is mandatory I'm afraid, BUT he is X points worth of movement 6, Toughness 4, multi-wound, fear-causing goodness not to mention he can damage and chase down a small detachment of say 10 peasant bowmen on his own.
I'd only take one obligatory unit with a bellower and nothing else, but damn am I happy that our obligatory unit doesn't suck as bad as others.

Quannum, funkin' out in every way. Since 1987.
I like Bulls. There, I said it. And I field more than the mandatory 1+.
But of course, a lot of the time they do get sacrificed to big, bad other units and I don't field bad because I only spent a little over 100 pts for the 3 of them, and if that killer unit witch elves with attached assassin overruns them in a completely different direction than the rest of my army and is out of the fight for 2 turns, well, then that's 100 pts well spent.
I play MSU so I have several small bull units with the only upgrade being a bellower. They'll pull units out of position, either so that I can ignore them, or pull them into a multiple charge position with my IGs.
Im trying to decide what units to take in my army. I think bulls look awesome and I might also take a few extra units so i can have some Gnoblars
i voted yes. they don't completely suck and they still have a purpose in your army, no matter how your forming your list, they'll always do something of some use.
As everyone has already stated, they are 1+ but are a lot of fun to use.
I've started recently to use bulls without upgrading them, first turn trollguts with my butcher on the squad and I'm good to go with a unit of S4 that minus 2 to any armor save due to ogre club and S4.
Rule 37: There is no 'overkill'. There is only 'open fire' and 'I need to reload'.
They make for great cover leading your IG up the field
