I am about to include some maneaters in my army and was thinking about what to equipt them with, so if anyone has got any clever stratagies on weopens for them or even how to use them it would be greatly appreciated.
Plus the pistols give them extra attack in close combat.
I've never used any Maneaters (the one I do have, I'm converting to a BSB ), but I'd use a mix of weapons. So take the Handguns, the GW, and possibly the longsword. But the Handguns are an attractive feature, as has already been said.

thanks for the replies guys, it looks like handguns are the way to go for them now its just the question of how to convert them but I'll leave that for a later date.
I myself am in the process of giving four Maneaters converted from the standard bull model the brace of handguns. I went on ebay and picked up a lot of empire handgunner (handgun) bits. I think with a little clipping and a little greenstuff it should be easy enough to get the guns in good shape, and from there I can make greenstuff holsters coming off of their gutplates or snip and glue them into their hands.
I could try and post some pictures if I get them done within the next week or so if that would be helpful in making a decision.
thanks bfmoney, some pics would be great.
maybe this may change some peoples minds; I am having them as flank protectors because they are "immune to pysicology"(they can take on basicly any opponents without running away first), I suppose they could shoot enemies on the flank, but what I was thinking is that I rustle up a unit of 4 and give 2 maneaters handguns, 1 a great weopen and 1 a cathayan longsword.
so what do you guys think good I dea or bad.
The cathayan longsword is terrible. I personally don't take great weapons because iron guts fill that role for me already. All handguns all the time is how I do it, the ability to shoot and getting an extra attack are quite worth it.
2 with handguns 1 with Cathayan longsword. Due to the way eaters work you get to decide who is taking the hits in your unit. having a single Longsword gives you a bit of a WS advantage for the first turn or two of combat. Its all thanks to the fact that you can take different kit on them. The FAQ allows you to pick who is taking the beating first.
Barring that. handguns all the way. Greatweapons are handled by your guts and OK cant go wrong with a bit o shootin.
