So I just got into ogres and I wanted a cool theme for them. I soon came up with some kind of African theme because I think the whole dry grassland thing is cool. I then stumbled upon the Kenyan culture and I think the ogres fit in nicely because of how they are both nomadic and have other relateable things. Since the main value of the kenyans was cattle I was thinking of a scraplauncher heavy army. I can probably use between 2-3 in my army. I was also thinking of using 2 hunters and maybe converting sabretusks to lions. The only problem is I don't think a fluffy army like this could be completely reliable.
This is where you all come in
I am looking for feedback on a way to use 2 hunters and between 2-3 scaplaunchers in a semi-competitive army.
My army will be 2250 points.
Any kind of painting, basing, and other thematic fitting ideas would be appreciated as well.

Well, I have stayed away from both scrap launchers and hunters but I can tell you right now, there is no way 3 scrap launchers will be anywhere near competitive. Take one but stop there.
2 hunters also seems to be overkill, but 1 could still work. The fluff possibilities for this list are endless, but if you plan to actually play with these boys and be successful, you might have to compromise. If you can find models that you like, or if you are a fantastic sculptor, I could see using gorillas as yhettees being a cool, fluffy, and still competitive aspect to think about adding to this army.
I think Kenyans may be a bit difficult, usualy when you theme armies in that sort of way you look for themes that a random person would know straight away what it is, But as for fluff the basis is always easy for ogres because ther are generally mercinaries, they fight for the highest bidder, so with that in mind you can base them on a whole range of stuff.
i mean look at the Maneaters, you could have a ninja army or a pirate army or a araby army, an I dea that I was thinking about was a egyption/tomb kings themed army with a screaming skull catapult being towed along by a rhinox, the ogres dont have to be "undead" they just dress cool, it would really stand out on a battle field.
so anyways I just cant see a kenyan army, sorry.

Kenya dig it?
A Kenyan themed list is entirely possible, in fact I've been to a tournament and seen a similar theme. It was easily identifiable and looked great! Another unit suggestion might be finding or sculpting small pigmee-like Kenyan people to use as gnoblars. I also think it would be cool to sculpt some maneaters with safafree type clothes, like those goofy round hats and all khakee clothes. Just some thoughts. I love this idea and you'll see me comming back with every idea I can think of.so anyways I just cant see a kenyan army, sorry.
Kenyan themed ogres could be pretty cool. I've seen Roman and Arabic themed Ogres. Just don't get too upset when folkls say it's "African" themed. Most folks don't know the differences between African cultures. I do alright with West Africa, but beyond that... no idea.
3 Scrappers is... interesting - people have really narrow ideas about what works in an Ogre Kingdoms list and what doesn't. Combined with 2 hunters, that's 5 Warmachines. Add 3 units of trappers and you have yourself a ranged Ogres List. Probably wouldn't work, but I'm willing to bet nobody's ever actually tried it.
