    Stupid = stupid expensive?

    New player still trying to decide on a faction.

    I was told OKs were a cheap army to build due to thier low model count so i decided to toy around on AB and make a list. I've done this with other factions and usualy end up with a price range between 250 to 350 so i was expecting an OK army to run around 200 to 300. Priced out it came out to 450!!

    I can't help but feel i've done something wrong.

    The reason why people say OK is one of the cheapest armies to build is because you can just buy a crapload of Ogre Bull boxes which contain 6 Ogre models per box. 6 times 4 = 24 Ogres which is what i usually end up with in any 2k~2250 List

    4 Ogre Bull boxes + an ample supply of Green stuff and you have a 2k+ army for under 200 bucks.

    Edit: And because you'll end up modelling/converting every model in your army you'll end up with a very personalized army. This is also why OK is arguably the army with the best conversions.

    Ah i see. But for those of us without greenstuff or artistic skills were in trouble.

    Convering 1 tyrant 2 butchers and 4 leadbelchers would drop this from 450 to 280 I see where your coming from save 170 bucks that way.

    Nope no brothers. I just copied and pasted from the AB i assumed that would be an acceptable way to quickly post what i was looking at to avoid comments like "well it depends on what your looking at". I will edit my pervious post to remove the list. Sorry for the inconvenience I will not do it again.

    You can post the lists, just not the individual points costs.

    No hard feelings dude Its good to get the mistakes out of the way lol.

    Anyway, your Ogre pricing. Basically by getting a Batallion, you start off ith a pretty decent 1K army for just £50. You can convert a Tyrant from one of the Bulls too if you like, although the metal Tyrant model is pretty sweet.

    Grab another Battalion and it should bring you near 2K, all youll need to do if fill out with some Ironguts and Leadbelchers, favoured by many Ogre players.

    Also any "spare" bulls can be "mutated" and converted into Gorgers, cos they are cool but the GW models are naff lol. And/or get a Giant to fill out your Rare selections. Ogre giants arent stubbborn, but they are cheaper pts wise than other giants, and still a pretty cool model

    How would you converta gorger out of a bull or gut. They are way too fat.
    Daemonic cheese-how? Well, you would need to start with daemonic milk, i guess...
