never fielded any.
Similar Ogre Statline, with improvements - +1M, +1S, +2I.
Awesome special rule, enemies are at -1 to hit - hitting is a vital part of combat, nuff said lol.
Terrain movement - The battlefield is their playground. Small skirmishers through woods, fair enough. But an ogre over a wall!? Holy crap!
Many Ogre players seem to rarely, if ever, take these guys...
Special unit is fair, Core would be stupid and Rare would be too much.
So it must be the points cost. How much would you guys be willing to pay for some M7 S5 Ogres?
I'm gonna try them out the coming weeks.
The bad thing with yhet's is that they're gonna get shot a lot and are costly.
They are strong and fast though
yeah, i've never used them yet either. But I have a game with a wood elf opponent on Mon that I might try to use these guys on. I know that they prove to be arrow targets, but I figure that I can use the move-through-terrain to blast through his protective forests.... I still don't know it they'll be worth the points though...
Hmmm, maybe ill try some out.
on a side note, Im converting my ogre army to have a lizardman look to them.
any suggestions for converting yhettes to look like they could be romping around in lustria?
im thinking maybe a skunk ape? but how....
Maybe get some ideas when you compare them with the new kroxigors?
Like some scales on the back and some less hair cause it's pretty hot in lustria I guess..
used yhetees in my game against the wood elves... and they sucked it up. They lost their combat against a unit of dryads in the second round, fled, and got caught...
I'm not gonna completely rule them out yet though... since I always say that in order to find out if i like or dislike something, i have to try it out in at least three games....
In all fairness, i don't think I played them where I should of, and getting the charge off on the unsuspecting dryads was fun.... they just sucked after the initial surprise....
I just tried out a unit of 3 today, against high elves.
I had them hidden in some terrain, waiting to spring them out.
all was going as planned, until a unit of bulls got wiped out, and they failed there LD test, and fled off the board....ill try them again though.
Swamp Ogre - Skull ape sounds like a good idea. What about using that jaw-bone thing from the Giant kit?
Pro's - Fast, Use terrain very well to your advantage, -1 for your Opponent to hit you, good strength
Con's - No saves, fairly expensive, average LD, -1 for friendly units to hit if they are in base contact as well, can't take the Greyback Pelt
I like them, alot of others don't. Best uses for them typically come from abusing their terrain rules. I won a match against TKs where the Yhettees were the only unit I needed to get in Combat with. Opponent had placed his Casket of Sould with his Hierophant at the top of a hill protected by an impassable cliff side. Yhettees charged right up the cliff and wiped his Hierophant on the charge. The rest of his Army crumbled, and all I had to do was clean up the remnants.
