greetings fellow Ogres,
I'm new to Ogre Kingdoms and I'm reworking a list I made up earlier. Is it possible/legal to use the following combo:
Put a Rune Maw totem in 1 unit.
Put a character with the Greatskull on another unit.
If the Rune Maw is targeted with magic, he can deflect the spell to the unit with the Greatskull potentially causing Miscast.
Or is it by then too late to cause a Miscast.
What about Gnoblar Thiefstones, do they still work? Or is the Rune Maw totem's effect after potential dispells.
The wording of the effect is "When a spell is successfully casts...". So thats after things such as dispels and miscasts have taken place.
If it was worded like so "When a unit is targeted with a spell, target another unit within X with it instead" then sure, but the effect happens after wards. Otherwise, it would be a nasty (or at least amusing) combo.
Thanks for pointing that out (feel kind of stupid now, should have noticed that myself)
Its all good
Everyone's looked at something and thought "Wow that would be cool" and then run with the idea and not realized that it just didn't work. Until recently i was under the impression that if you took a magic weapon you couldn't use iron fist as a shield (You can, just dont get the parry bonus).
If ya got any questions, this is a great place to air them, lots of people in the know, just be warned as occasionally you will get a wall of text
While that combo wouldn't work exactly how you planned, you'd be able to limit your opponent's options when it comes to where his magic is going. Either target the greatskull unit and potentially miscast, or target the Runemaw unit and have the spell wasted on some stupid Gnoblars.
