I'm wondering what would you're 1st choice be whe picking your rare option

personally, I would take rhinox riders for the required special and rare choice slot...
they are more reliable (or should I say timely) than gorgers. If your store, or your opponent lets you use them, then I would recommend the riders to any ogre player. Just the other day I had a unit of two take down a unit of 20 dwarf hammerers (i think), a cannon and crew, and then took out half a unit of iron breakers with a general in it before the game was done... Rhinox riders = raw power
rhinox riders are absurd.
They are also not tourny legal so its not a viable choice
Armies to date:
2500 Ogre Kingdoms
2500 Tomb Kings
1500 Space MArines
It really depends on the tournament. some GTs allow them, some indy tournaments allow them, its is all up to the organiser.
Oh my, I'm the only one to vote Giant. How is the Slavegiant that bad? Sure, it doesn't have Stubborn, but there are better things in an Ogre army to use as a tar-pit. You can use Gnoblars, you could use a small unit of Bulls.
The Slavegiant is cheaper than the normal Giant, and it causes Terror. It is a great unit as it gets the flank bonus and can deliver some pain.
The lack of Stubborn is no worry for me, as I found charging into the front of a fully ranked up unit not to be a great idea.
I run Giants for the fun factor, and the look on the opponent's face when I eat his Arch-Lector. *evil laugh*
