This is the start of a new series, that will hopefully bring new ideas and tactics to the forums. Each week, a new topic will be posted up about a different unit in the army book. This gives you your chance to discuss the unit to its fullest. So, please leave your comment!
This week's topic is -
How useful is he in an ogre army? Why take it over other options? How does it compare to other army options?
for the ogres the slavegiant is not the best of choices at all. costing a huge amount of points for an arrow magnet he doesn't really add much to the army as any smart opponent will know not to be afraid of this guy. what makes the giant so different from the rest of the giants in the warhammer world is he is not stubborn. he is just as likely to get shot down as he is to run from combat once he gets there. also he takes a rare slot which is always better spent on a gorger or if you like maneater's.
5000 Pts of Undeath descend upon you....
He's cheaper than other giants, so he isn't exactly a complete waste of points and he's still a giant in almost all ways. Just play him a little different like using him to combo charge things and he'll work for you.
I'd never bring one, because I love my gorgers too much. 2 gorgers cost less than a giant and bring a lot more to the table.
