I tried getting into WFB about a year ago, but never had time to sit down and learn the rules. With the new rulebook coming out in a week, I've heard things are a lot more streamline and a bit easier to learn. I enjoyed reading through the army book and think I might like the playstyle. I picked up a battalion and after converting a bruiser and butcher from 2 of the models, I couldn't decide if I wanted to keep the leadbelchers or not. Are they worth it or should I just make them bulls/ironguts? Also, what do you other tyrants usually outfit your troops with? I really want to try to keep them as competitive as possible, but don't want them to be cheesy. One last question, what should my next purchases be?
I did the same thing i converted 2 models to be a butcher and bruiser. Well its vital to have 5 bulls(takes 6 wounds before a panic test arises), 4 Ironguts because they' have Strength 6 weapons(put a bruiser in there with additional hand weapon and get cannibal totem which lets you re roll failed hits and wounds in the first round of combat). Lastly 3 leadbelchers, they can be devastating to toughness 3 units, but have very high points cost.
However before you make these models i suggest reading the rules because a lot has changed (Stomp attack, fighting in 2 ranks, ranks?)
I also recommend getting a gorger because they have are Unbreakable,Strength 5, Toughness 5 , 4 wounds, have 4 attacks and deploy from any table edge.
