Hey, im ridiculously confused by this banner, regarding its breath weapon in combat. So when do you use it? At the beginning of combat? Does it strike at initiative order so in the second round of combat it causes your opponent to strike last? Any thoughts?
Also, i have a high elf friend, If he has say 20 spearmen and he gets hit with the banner in combat, what happens? Does his "Always strike first" warriors go down to initiative order?
Cheers guys, much appreciated this banner is actually giving me a headache
So when do you use it?
-You're correct about it going in initiative order (it lasts until the end of the next round of combat, so you better win that 1st round!).

-correct again! the HE player would strike in init order (and not get their rerolls for SoA) for the next round of combat.
Don't forget the benefits of charging with this banner! a BSB with it and an IG unit with the +1 M banner can help assure you of your getting to redeem those bonuses more often than not. ESPECIALLY with your 2h weaps, which will likely only fail to wound on 1's. The other guys are a bonus.
What exactly do you mean? sorry i dont understand can you give a exampleso you better win that 1st round!
put it in your mournfang cav
on the turn they charge they get D3 impact hits each, 3 attacks with the bull and 4 with the cat, stomp and then 2D6 attacks from the banner with re-rolling 1's to hit, to wound and Armour saves
with a unit of 4 that's a possible 12 S5 impact hits, 12 S4 attacks, 16 S5 attacks, 12 S3 hits and 4 S5 Stomps
i dont think there is a infantry unit in the game that can survive that
