should i have a scraplauncha in a 1000 pt force. I think that the list will be as follows.

1 Bruiser

6 bulls or two groups of 3

24 gnoblars

3 yhetis

scraplancha

gorger

all comments welcome

drop the gnoblars for another ogre and make it one group of three ogres and one group of four. also get a butcher instead of the bruiser otherwise its great

I would actually go for the bruiser, as your only army's leader, you might want to go with a fighting type guy instead, I have not had a butcher yet and have had good success, but it all depends what armies your fighting of course

So the dependant on what armies you're playing switch the bruiser

If you kept the bruiser and knocked off the gnoblars, you could have a unit of four ogres and put the bruiser in the unit of 3, having your scraplaunchars and gorgers tie enemy units up, and your yhetees coming up the side.

Definitely take the bruiser. If you're worried about magical defense, then make your ogres one unit of 6 and give the bruiser 2 gnoblar theifstones. Give him a GW and maybe a big name (Mawseeker isn't that bad despite the stupidity) and you'll be just fine.

What weapons have you given the bulls? :hmm: Any command?
The iron crowned is getting closer,
Swings his hammer down on him,
Like a thunderstorm he's crushing,
Down the Noldor's proudest king.

Under my foot, so hopeless it seems.
You've troubled my day, now feel the pain.

I don't think you can have a Butcher as your General, which sucks.

You must have a bruiser or tyrant to lead your forces, so the bruiser has to stay.

Also - you can't take a Scrapalauncher without a unit of either Gnoblars or Gnoblar trappers, so they have to stay as well.

The initial list is pretty solid if you want to run a scrapalauncher is 1000 points.

Personally, I wouldn't run a scrapalauncher in that small a force. Instead, I'd run a hunter - this means no need for Gnoblars.

Drop the Hunter into Mastodon armor and he is a heck of a piece of artillery.

Nevermind the fact that a hunter w/ the armour and 2 cats(without which he sucks) is 235 points, meaning hed have to take out some serious stuff. Plus hunters are very specialised to begin with. I'd take out the gorger,a single one wont do much.and the yhetees, which are too expensive, and add in some ironguts and bulls.

The Hunter and his Cats only need to take out their own point value worth of opponents if you're working from the assumption that they'll die. The unit is highly unlikely to die in 1000 point game - the cats maybe, but I'd be surprised if the Hunter bit it - in 2000 point, sure, but not too likely in 1000 point.

Plus, being a bolt thrower means he rips apart any ranked up unit with relative ease as they approach, and then can shred them in Close Combat once the weakened unit is nearby. I can't picture not running a hunter in a 1000 point game.
