I currently play chaos but am thinking of starting to build 2000 point force of Ogres. I wanted to make my force look different by making a theme. I was thinking of maybe executioners with hoods over the heads does anyone else have any good ideas for ogres that can be interperated throughout the entire force.

Thanks in advance

I had an idea very like yours, but I've also seen a Slave Giant that has an executioner style mask and it looked really good. I supose to continue the theme you could swap all there clubs for axes.

Yes for 175 points Ogres can have a slave giant. Pretty similar to a normal giant but isn't stubborn.

If you like chaos you could do a chaos themed ogre army, ones with mutations, etc.

Someone on the games-workshop forums was doing a clown themed ogre army, with ogres as clowns, leadbelchers shooting gnoblars out of cannons, and stuff like that.

You could do a mercenary type army as well, one that resembles another culture, like empire, bretonnian, or cathay influenced

another could be an army of ogres that eats mostly stones to keep their guts strong, you could paint them gray and have lichen growing on their skin.

just let your imagination run wild

The tribes in the book are brilliant themes to use.
Everyone of them is easy to convert and has a really specific theme.
THe tribe im doing is based on a few ogres that was in Cathay when the Maw appeared. THey blame the umans for the comet and destruction and all have human banners and corpses all over them, and have cleavers instead of clubs to kill people easier.

yah, I'm doing the sons of the mountains, or mountaineaters, I really liked the brown and white stripes on their pants, and since my army will live in high peaks of the mountains, I'm using yhetees alot in my army.

Why not do a nurglesque army as Nurgle is easy to convert. Give em all masks like the Dark Emmisary and boils and sores and all sorts of cancerous growth. After all Ogres love mutations!

Okay... I'm heading for one themed unit in my army...

Damn chaos players forcing my ogres to go shooty (?!?&#33 so this is gonna mean a unit of maneaters with the brace of handguns... Figure these guys should go pirate. Any suggestions on how to make 'em look suitably pirat-y? Even if it means converting bull ogres.

I'm thinking bandannas, perhaps replacing gut-plates with big belt buckles, pirate hats, flowing pirate shirts if I can manage it...

Thoughts?
