Im playing a 1000 point game and wondered if I should put a butcher or a bruiser in with my ironguts? Or both? Could a OK veteran spare some advice?
Right ok in 1000pts you have to have a general, and you only have access to hero choices. The only choice that is legal is the Bruiser as he is the only hero that can actually be your army general. If i had the choice i would take the butcher as the are so good for their points, think about it DE get their sorceress for 130 odd pts on lvl 2 and she definately doesnt have the stats of an ogre, nor does she have 4 wounds! or T5! But yes a Bruiser for sure. maybe equipt him with a great wepon, is my advice.
Good luck hope this helps! DI

I would always take the bruiser (but as said before you have to anyway) I would take a bruiser because in my view, an ogre army's greatest strength is of course its fighting cababilities, I only use butchers in battles that are 1,500 points above, in my view I like to maximize a strength, and when I'm done with that one, move to the next, so a bigger army uses more of its strengths, and a smaller point army uses the strength it has very effectively. I may try some small battles using butchers, but always, if you know who your playing against its alot easier to decide if you want to add magic or stay as a combat army.
