Three things actually, 1 the fact that everyone else knows this to, and 2 it has a gnoblar leadership so once it's outside the generals leadership bonus, 1 panic test and the thing is almost gauranteed to run, massive waste of points, and 3 it's got a low strength value and unless you can roll lots of 6's for killing blow..... They were the bad things, the good things are if it's within the generals leadership, and targets low toughness troops, plus if your great at rolling 6's, the model rocks! It also looks good but is a b#*^h to assemble. |

Having seen one used to rather davastating effect I would have to say they are awesome. Yes the low strength is a drawback but against toughness 3 armies you are going to kill somethings. I would like to take one against a bretonian army, toughness 3 and no armour save with the chance of killing blow sounds great. Ok so there knights get that bent ward save thing but hey it will upset them a lot, just before you charge them with it and do impact hits. I think they are cool

I don't have one yet, but I will almost certainly take one in the future though. They seem perfect for taking out those frustrating little dark elf repeater crossbow units that my opponent always uses.

They are really good when you know how to use them although I always seem to get bad rolls with them. Bloodlust

I don't think that they're all that great actually, sure they use the large template, but you'll only be killing something if you roll a 6 for anything underneath it. I've found that it averages out to 2-3 kills if you're on target in the centre of a block unit of 20. Coupled with the low ld - ever charging rhinox, you have one easily distracted and not too effective unit. I don't think it's very dependable, so I tend to leave them out of my lists. Give me a normal stone thrower any day of the week.

Plus you combine all the weaknesses of a chariot: being vulnerable to S7 and no marching. They are so easily distracted. L ast time I just simply charged them with fliers in the rear and they spent the whole game trying to charge them. I was thinking of using them behind a gnoblar wall, but the front arc rule is a problem. Also if the gnoblars flee (not very hard), it'll leave your expensive 165 point machine right out in the open. Its also only M6, if it was M7 I *might* consider taking it, but right now I would go Yhetees and Leadbelchers anyday! |

Surely if you keep it close enough to your army general you can use his leadership to avoid the bad tempered rolls. Strength 3 isn't that bad as it causes wounds on 4s or 5s and then you have killing blow as a bonus. I think if it is used properly it can be very effective.

The problem with that is keeping an artillery piece close to your general is a problem when your army is most effective when marching forwards to meet your enemy. Ogres are fast and can manouvre into advantageous positions over other armies very quickly. While doing this, you'll find that in a couple of turns, your scraplauncher will be all alone and testing on it's night goblin-esque leadership value! Very frustrating!
