Welcome to Librarium Online!
Today I had my first game with Lizardmen against my older brother, who was playing OK.
Ogre Hero w/ Great Weapon + 2 handguns
Scar Veteren w/ Great Weapon + Light Armour
28 Saurus w/ Hand Weapons
12 Skinks w/ Javelins
Admittedly, I made some mistakes, such as using my Kroxigors and Skinks seperately, charging headlong into his Hero with my Veteren and seeing if my Skinks could run from his Hero.
However, my Saurus did extremely well, holding up when evrything else died, only every killing a single Ogre, though.
I thought I'd come here to get help, from those who know the Ogres best. So, what the hell should I do?
EDIT: It was a quick game at GW, an intorductory one if you will.
Well first off I can't really see why you lost, perhaps you missused your skinks, as their poison attacks are a bane to ogres, just scout next to them and pepper them with multiple blowpipe shots, they do better than javelins.
make your saurus block take the charge, with Ld8 on 3 dice, it should not be a problem taking it.
Make sure you march up to him , as if you are within 6'' of him, you deny is impact hits.
do your saurus have full command models ? Standard, musician, and champion?
how can you kill only 1 ogre with 2 attacks a fig? bad rolling?
Since it was an intro game we started fairly close and my Skinks only got a sinlge round of shooting agianst the Ogres before the Bruiser forced them off the field.Originally Posted by Wolf_Pack

I was hoping to get the charge, so I didn't march.
I had a Musician and Standard, but no Champion.
1st round of combat: He killed too many for me to attack back.
2ndround of combat: I got 8 attacks and did three wounds.
3rd round of combat: I did two wounds and he did none. The Ogres break.
Next turn: A Leadbelcher, Bruiser and Bulls all assault my Sarus from different angles. Bye-bye Saurus.
You should be able to steam roller that list with what you took. Make sure that your skinks have the scouting ability upgrade to deny the ogres their march movements and target the leadbelchers first with your shooting.
Perhaps even consider down-sizing your saurus unit and adding spears as you will be receiving charges against them most of the time. Aslo, if you have enough points spare, perhaps consider adding another units of 12 scouting skinks for additional harassment, OK armies are notoriusly bad against skirmishers.
Use your kroxis to take out either the belchers or ironguts, they do well against either of them - make sure you get the charge in with them!
One final thing to consider is your hero, I'd take a level 2 skink priest with the Lore of Heavens, OK's are also very prone to magical attack, especially in, low pts matches where there are minimal dispel dice.
Hope that this helps!
The iron crowned is getting closer,
Swings his hammer down on him,
Like a thunderstorm he's crushing,
Down the Noldor's proudest king.
Under my foot, so hopeless it seems.
You've troubled my day, now feel the pain.

At my defense, I had horrendous luck. My Kroxigors charged four Ironguts, only killing one and a Krox was killed back. The next round of combat was a similiar story, and my last Krox fled, outnumbered.
My actual, personal Saurus unit will be of 16 w/ Hand Weapon and Shield. Once I pick up a new one I will arm it with spears.
I've heard of the greatness of scouting Skinks; I always plan to have at least 12 w/ Javelins.
All I've actually got right now is 16 Saurus, but I'm being paid a tidy sum tomorrow so I'll pick up some Skinks. I love the Scar-Veteren mini, so I'll be picking one of those up before a Priest.
Thanks for your help.
How did the Bruiser drive them off the field? In an official WD Q&A it was stated that OK characters only have 90 Degree LOS, and can't March within however close.
It charged and I decided to run, but it caught up. :o
