I didn't know that ogres had any cavalry, apart from the scraplauncha and that's a war machine. You've confused me.

Check out the forge world website.

Some members spread the rumor of the ogre cavalry (wich isn't tournament legal) will be integrated in the armylist. For all I know, you might as well keep your fingers crossed on that one.

They're 1-3 models in a unit.. one model is basically a powerful chariot, and 3 models are a 500 point eggs-in-one-basket unit. If I remember right, they take up 1 rare and 1 special (2 rares as DOW). Not a really worthwhile statline...

What would be good is gnoblar cavalry. Something like goblin wolf riders. They could even be skirmish cavalry. I think that would be a good unit.
    Any comments?

I think that's too much of the same thing (weedy greenskins on wolves), and skirmishing cavalry seems like a weird prospect to me. No, I think I'd rather have Ogres on Rhinoxen. I'm one of those everything-in-one-basket people, no matter how tactically unsound it may be . If the Ogre cavalry go official, I'd get a unit of three simply to have the hardest cavalry in the game. I do think they're overpriced though (WAY overpriced) so I'd like to see them toned down some.

I would like to see gnoblars trying to ''herd', around a unit of rhinoxen, must more humourful than a unit of mount ogres with a bad attitude.

    somthing along this:

Gnoblar Rhinoxen Cavalry (or so they claim)

    WS BS S T W I A Ld Sv
    3 0 5 5 5 2 3 5

    Special Rule

    Herded
Every turn the gnoblars must battle the stubborness (or stupidity) of the rhinox to get it to go where they intend to. They must pass a Leaddership test or march/charge towards the nearest enemy in sight.

Thick shaggy hide and horde of gnoblars
the hide confers the rhinox a 4+ save, wich is improved to a 3+ save by the mass of gnoblars swarming around it trying to get hold of the reigns for a brief moment, just to get thrown off be another.

    Sword Gnoblars

the gnoblar do not only fight for the control of the beast, and sometimes even gather enough courage to face the enemy. the Rhinox counts as having 3 sword gnoblars.

    Much better no?
    Best Regards,
    Wolf_Pack

put it this way what would you rather for terror causing, one of them 161 with a 2+ save
or slavegiant for 175 no save at all
ok you might have to charge but thats not always and even so wont be too bad, giants can fall over
but other than that same T and W, giant attacks about the same really, but chance to do other stuff which makes it random and unreliable. But the rhinox has 3 attacks at S4 and 4 at S6 plus D3 impact hits on the charge

personally i feel that the rhinox cavalry are much much better than giants for 14pts less, ok it takes up a special slot too but still they can go in a unit of 3 which is just plain nasty.
