Hey guys.... eventually i'll figure out what fantasy army i want to play... i'm too fickle. (
i'm considering making an army of chaos ogres converted from the OK plastics and metals. Problem is: Gnoblars.
I don't imagine there are many gnoblars at all in the chaos wastes, or even too close to it. So, what should i do? i've considered getting some Warmaster daemon models, but i'm not sure of the scale, i feel fairly certain they are not even remotely close to the size of gnoblars. The characters might work, but i'd rather not spend 10 dollars for what amounts to two gnoblars.
so i must ask, any ideas? possibly i'll just grab my extra chaos mutation sprues and greenstuff and make 'baby chaos spawn' or something along those lines, but if anyone else has a good idea or two, please feel free to let me know. Or: if someone can figure out a fluffy reason for these Chaos Ogres to keep Gnoblars around, or if there's a more chaos-y version of a gnoblar i can make, say so.
Additionally, should i find that this DOESN'T work, does a Ogre Kingdoms army work well at all without Gnoblars?
Convert some relatives of Nurglings?
Use Light, Beasts, Metal instead of Heavens
NecroLords: Use at least one Death Mage
Brets: Use Peasants&Damsels
Skaven: Don't use Skryre SAD
Some kind of gibbering horde monsters..
Get green stuff, shape mouths and possibly an eye or two, you're done. ;P
Some of'em I made into Familiars. One got a Chaos Warrior Head and a weapon from the Chaos Warrior Sprue (one of the Gnoblar models holds a broken half of a Chaos shield anyways ) and it became my Warrior Familiar (should I ever field one, that is  )
And another one got an Ogre head and one of the surplus Horror arms I had, and ready was the next Familiar. he looks a bit hunchbacked due to the enormous head, but since it's a Chaos Familiar, it fits perfect.
The third one just got an Ork head (not quite as oversized but still distinctively NO Gnoblar anymore)
And the rest of the batch went to join my 40K Orks (transformed as Gretchin, of course)
Gnoblars are part of a large branch of goblinoids in the old world, wich as a common spread plague. they are found everywhere, they just get different names. From goblins to khobolds, they are all the same. Just name them hobgoblins like the chaos dwarfs, either marauders or nurgling bases should do.
Try modeling them around the Fallen Ones from Diablo- i.e. little cowardly demons
the Beastmen Ungor kinda look like them- only bigger
Some LOTR stuff should look suitably puny actually...
I still hate Twiglets!
i hadn't thought about Moria Goblins...
Though calling them Hobgoblins isn't a bad idea... maybe just Gnoblar heads on Goblin bodies? Slaves bought from the Chaos dwarves.
Moria Goblins or Warhammer Goblins?
Warhammer Goblins are in my oppinion look way too heavily built to justify Gnoblar stats, they've got almost Orc like biceps.
I still hate Twiglets!
I'd be tempted to use the old blue horror models (the really small ones) and model them up a bit with green stuff so it looked like they were hawking acidic loogies. (Instead of flinging 'sharp stuff'.) But that's just me.

New 40K missions here.
i unfortunately don't have a wealth of those classic models, and moria goblins would be what i would use if i made them into gnoblars. Any ideas on the approximate size comparison? or even if the moria goblin head is detatchable?
I'm more tempted though to just take the bases, greenstuff, and Chaos mutation sprues and make gibbering hordes.
after i get used to the OK army, i might try submitting a chaos ogre army list to white dwarf... but then again, considering the last so many army lists they've put in there which aren't tourney legal, i'm sure that list would be chucked in that pile. *curses GW for the Gnoblar horde list, the clan Moulder list, the Ironskin tribe list, as well as the Chosen of Ahriman*
