Hi, im new to the game and a few friends of mine play this game. I wanted to try an army thats cool, hard to play, interesting, and will look good when i paint them. So far i got ideas in my head so here it goes
I sat down with that rediculous codex book (whatever its called) and tried to coem up with this..please help me out (no flamers, yes im a nub) and give ideas to stick to the theme.
Id really appreciate it.
This prolly seems really silly to play magic guided ogres, but I thought it was really cool and will look awesome once i pick up some modeling clay for a few items i might have in mind.
first 2kpt army then prolly gradually into 3kpt army
2kpt army as follows..
1 Skreg- Slaughterer of Maw
4 Butchers (1 with a Halfing Cookbook)
1 Slaughtermaster (with 3 tooth or luck gnoblers - i need help choosing cause i dont know the difference of the two)
3 Yhettes (1 with a Canniblize banner)
40 Gnoblors (with groin biting)
Help me please stick to the magic theme its so cool. And if there are any rules i missed or regulations that would rock the kazbar.
where to start...............
you cannot have 4 butchers, butcher are classed as hero's and you are not aloud to have more than 3, skrag is counted as a slaughter master so you cant take another unless you have 3000 points, and finnaly yheetes cannot have any magical banners. you can have 3 gorgers only if you keep Skrag.
my advice is to get some combat units, because when CC comes round, you will most likely get outnumbered and slaughtered
BOOM, HUR HUR HUR,
3000+ point OGRE KINGDOM ARMY
Join the THE ANZAC CLAN....... or suffer
I am the Empire, 63% Honorable, 49% Bloodthirsty, 44% Magic-minded, and 62% tactically-oriented!
Everything BIGFATOGRE said plus you need a unit of bulls (1+ in army)
Other then the minumum and maximum units you need, I suggest that you completely get rid of your your yhetees and one gorger. Then spend those points combined with the points from the butcher and slaughtermaster you have to get rid of and buy: atleast one solid unit o' bulls, a unit of iron guts, another unit of gnoblers (very cheap and can atleast hold the line for one turn while your magic continues to pound the enemy) and a few more magic items to help your butchers (bangstick is good for atleast getting rid of a dispel die).
Just remember, an ogre army based around magic will be hard to pull off due to some of the limits of ogre magic spells, and since half the spells modify close combat units you will need some of those.
