    Scraplauncher Model Help

    Hello All,

The purpose of my post is to ask for advice concerning assembly and painting of the Scraplauncher model. The model has numerous small and overlapping pieces, and I'm unsure as to where to start.

    For example:
    1. Should I assemble the model completely, prime, and then paint?
    2. Or assemble certian parts, prime, paint, and then assemble the "groups" of parts?

Really I'm just overwelled with the model and seeking veteran modelers and painters advice.
Any advice and/or suggestions are welcomed.

    Thanks,

Ah, the Scraplauncher. Man, was that ever a pain to assemble. Who ever would have thought that a machine that is essentially a pile of garbage on a sled would be so hard to assemble and paint?

Personally, I assembled it, component-wise, and painted each subsection on its own before assembling. Otherwise, I would not have been able to get a good primer coat in the little crevices.

The steps I followed were thus:

    1. Clean and file all the pieces.
    2. Assemble the model with Blu-tac to ensure all the pieces fit, drilling and pinning where necessary.
    3. Construct each side of the catapult separately, along with the Rhinox.
    4. Prime and paint each part
    5. Seal each part with matte varnish.
    6. Prepare the scenic base.
    6. Assemble the whole thing.

Take heart, though, I found it to be surprisingly easy to paint.

Just finished with my assembly of it. Looks like garbage but thats what a scrape launcher is supposed ot look like. A catapault thats made from hobbled together parts.
