Welcome to Librarium Online!
Heard of any successful ones? I want a theme army and I just want to make sure I don't lose every game, even though I don't plan on this list winning too often. I'm currently working on a list and I just wanted to hear some opinions whether or not this is a waste of paint and glue or if I can actually have fun with it.
Common Goblins - 1000
Goblin Warboss - 74
Goblin Great Shaman - 190
Magic Level 4
Goblins (40) - 220
Goblins (40) - 220
Goblins (20) - 80
Goblin Wolf Riders (10) - 160
Wolf Chariot - 60
Well I cant say that im an expert on common goblins, but i think i can offer a couple tidbits of advice. First and foremost, you can't have any lord choices in a thousand points, so your warboss and level 4 wizard will have to be replaced with their weaker and cheaper brethren. I have found that goblins as a whole will not win combats by themselves, but need some good support units to help them out. So with that in mind, if you aren't trying to be "just goblins" but more "no orcs", then you might want to consider some trolls or a giant as they will add a lot of much needed support to an overall very weak army. If you are completely attatched to pure goblins, then you should definately consider some artillery like spear chukkas and stone throwers as they will be able to take care of the tougher infantry that your goblins couldnt normally scratch. I would also reccomend that you drop the goblins with short bows and shrink the big units of goblins down to thirty in favour of getting another goblin unit of thirty, simply because goblins with bows just wont do anything in most circumstances. As a final note, I would suggest that you split the unit of ten wolf riders into two units of five with just musicians. Two units will be more tactically flexible for getting flanks, the standard will just offer up more victory points to the enemy if you are using them as a support unit, and the price you pay for a low weaponskill, average strength attack just isnt worth it.
Hope this helps!

Okay that advice helps alot and when I getr up it too 2000 points i planned on 3 trolls and a giant this is just like you said a no orc and night goblin list so giants and trolls are a must and now that i think about it i should have one of those in my 1000
quick question though on army builder 2.3 with warhammer fantasy v7 it has a list called "common goblin horde" and it has boyz as a rare choice is this legal?
on 'Da Warpath' (=O&G forum) there is a guy who won a tournament with an all common goblin army
but with such an army, you need a skilled guy leading it
yeah I lack skill due to the fact I've never played fantasy, I've played 40k my whole life so I'm making the decision whether or not to invest in this army or to just continue on with 40k i might just make a hordes army because I plan on starting a thousand suns army and that way i could use models for both armies
thanks for the advice guys when I get some money I'll tell you what happens
