Orcs with lots of spells, 64 arrows, wolves, spiders, and pointed sticks. This army relies on mobility, numbers, and range to whittle away at enemy units, while smashing them with big orky spells and stomping through with big units of boyz.
Scores 3935 on WPS, which is on the less cheesey end of solid, but balanced.
Ork Great Shaman 365 - Big bruiser. Drives around on the chariot eating stuff
Skull Wand of Kaloth
Best Hat Ever
Ork Shaman 116 - Generates SD and generally supports the big ork mobs
Ork Shaman 116
Goblin Boss 131 - Rides around with the spiders and gives them all poison
30 Arrer Boyz 210 - Wastes 210 points and shoots people
14 Goblin Spider Riders 227 - Looks really cool and shoots people
10 Wolf Riders 170 - flank shredders,
10 Wolf Riders 170
20 Night Goblins 125 - Support chargers
20 Night Goblins 125
20 Night Goblins 105 - Because they come in the skull pass box
25 Boyz 205 - Anvil and general horde of guyz
25 Boyz 205
I have not played with O&G yet. I have a deal pending where I can pick up pretty much this whole army for about 200, and it seems like it would be really fun to me. I just figured I would put this up on here, have everyone take a look, and see what you all thought about it. I know orks that shoot is not an often used technique, but it seems fairly viable en masse.
I'm guessing this is a deliberately unconventional list?
First thing that comes glaring out at me is the arrer boyz. Scrap them for a giant. You will get sososososososososososoooooooo much more out of a giant for slightly less points infact.
Using Wolf Riders as Medium Cavalry is definitely unconventional. It has potential maybe but most people including myself Would much rather take 2 units of 5 or 6 with S.Bows, musician and maybe spears. Fast Cavalry FTW.
Take Choppa and Shield or 2 choppas on the Orc Boyz unit. The +1 strength bonus from the choppa is just far too good to be wasted by giving them spears, that's what night goblins are for. I suppose you could use choppa and shielfor the first round then swap out for the spears for following rounds but to be honest I think I'd rather just take 2 choppas.
Speaking of Night Goblins, combine those two units of 20 into a block of 35-40 with musician, standard, 2 fanatics and maybe nets. This gives them a much higher survivability and also gives you a much more static combat res.
You could do with kitting out your 2 shamans, personally I'd scrap at least one in favour of either a Gobbo or NG shaman. I'm not a big fan of your choice of BSB either, I think giving the spider riders the spider banner is overdoing it and that they won't actually benefit that greatly from it. Take an Orc BSB with Mork's spirit totem or Nogg's banner instead perhaps?
Anyway, just some suggestions really. Let me know what you think.
