Goblin Spear Chukka 35
Out of curriosity, why not put a bully on the spear chukka, to gain an extra wound for the unit, and rise the ballistic skill, it seems like a great deal for 5 points.
OK, I see you're going a magic heavy list. Not my forte', but I'll grant you've got experience running this sort of list.
My first concern with your list is that your units are too darned small and that you've got too many fanatics in your secondary units. One/two fanatics each in the outlying units, just to "keep your opponent honest" is all you'll need. Otherwise you're basically wasting 75 points per unit when skirmishers/fast cav/cannon fodder rousts out the fanatics in front of the main units you REALLY want to nail with them... 50 more points worth of goblins (13-15 models!) in each unit will serve you much better.
Also, 20 short bows is a really useless amount. You either want to dominate the shooting phase or ignore it. Consider altering this unit. Personally I love goblin archers, so I'd pump it up, not lose it... But that's just me.
Second, wolf riders/ spider riders. One or the other, but not both. I know you probably want to use the spiders to support a big unit and the wolf riders to kill war machines, but believe me, 5 wolfies isn't going to do much damage these days. Better to have 15 of either unit than 10/5.
3rd. Lose the raggedy red banner. with the new rules for BSB it literally does nothing. I believe GW has even stated that this item will be changed in the new book because it literally does nothing now.
4th. Because you can add another spear chukka into the same unit as the first one, you should. it's only 35 points.
5th. Trolls get lonely all alone. Retire him to the swamp.
Hope this helps!
Regarding the wolves and spider riders. Units of 5 each work very very well. If you take 3 units of 5 then the enemy has to kill more models to cause panic than if they were one unit. I use a unit of 5 wolf riders and another of spiderriders. Both have spears, bows and a musician. The shots they give and being fast cav really pay off, and if you need to, you can always charge a war machine or flank or rear charge as support. Just my opinion on this. I agree with evertything else you said.
Doom divers are really good too
Your heroes seem reasonable for a magic heavy list but you will be punished for having a low leadership. Maybe make one of the heroes a regular Gobbo to gain a point and make him the General. Also- The Big Red Raggedy banner is redundant, it does nothing the BSB doesn't already. I'm also not sure you can still take two scrolls on one guy. I'd also consider dropping the level on one of the support shamen, I'm not sure that many levels is good value for money.
I'd try and up the numbers in your spear units. 40 is a good number. Drop the command from your fast cav and bowmen (except the musician) and that should earn you some points. 50 pts from the BRRB will help too. That's a lot of fanatics too. If you've got the models maybe try and fit another 20 man bowmen unit in there and either spread the fanatics around or have a sacrificial unit that costs bugger all.
If there are still some points spare try and get a second bolt-thrower in there. They always work well in pairs.
Apart from that you seem to have created an 'elite' goblin army. I can't guarantee you'll win but it will be fun to watch.
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!
