Welcome to Librarium Online!
My first attempt at an 8th edition balanced list. Please give feedback as I have my first game of 8th on saturday, likely against skaven.
Goblin great shaman, level 4, big boss 'at.
Goblin warboss, gigantic spider, light armour, shield, 'akrit axe.
(joins spider unit)
Black orc warboss (general), heavy armour, shield, martog's best basher (in spear unit)
(tempted to drop the magic weapon, armed to the teef seems like weapon enough)
Night goblin big boss (bsb), Light armour, Spider banner (in spear unit)
Night goblin big boss, Great axe, light armour, shield, Mad cap 'shrooms.
(in archer unit to provide re-rolls on 3 fanatics).
40 Night goblins with spears, nets and command.
29 Night goblins with bows, 3 fanatics and command.
14 Orc Biguns with extra choppa, banner of swiftness (+1 move) and command.
8 Goblin spider riders with bows, champion and musician.
19 Black orcs with shields, command and banner of butchery.
Wolf chariot with extra crew and wolf.
7 Squig hoppers.
2 Spear chuckas.
1995 points in total.
The 3 main infantry blocks of orcs and goblins deploy centrally (black orcs, orc biguns and night goblins with spears) with the BSB and black orc general providing their leadership bubble with re-roll.These units will be flanked by archers with fanatics, and various fast moving units to flank the enemy (hoppers, chariot, spiders). Meanwhile the 3 war machines (not alot i know) will shoot the enemy's units that my infantry can't handle.
I am not sure where to deploy the shaman yet. Also no idea where to place war machines, far flank? Are there any obvious flaws with my list / battle plan?
Nice list, i think it will look perty cool on dem battlefield especially with the gigantic spider.
It all makes a very diverse bunch o madkin
The far flank for the spear chukka's sound good, theyre really cheap but in the flank theyre going to be a menace and threaten to hit expensive units in the flank, or they'l draw more attention than theyre worth to one seless flank. Spread it out = Win/Win
- The shaman might fit in the core, along with the black orc general, so that your magic phase will not be interupted by a single animosity roll. Ofcourse he can leave if stuff gets too hot.
Or if you fear that unit will become too much of a mark, maybe in the black orc unit. They're allready an artillery mark, but there he's still quite safe and will not suffer animosity
- Nice choices with the banners. I feel the spiderbanner is usually not worth 50 points but in this case (against Skaven) it might actually help out, where your units will be fighting equally powerfull (slightly larger) units: bashin a few extra skulls can help break the Skaven, who knows you might even break through their Strength in Numbers.
- maybe considered the eternal flame banner for the black orcs instead? Flaming attacks will prove usefull if your opponent actually turns up with an abomination. If not they get to re-roll attacks on buildings (like the Watchtower scenario)
As usuall, i just want to add, im not a big fan of spearmen goblins, theyre just making trash units more expensive. (for those points you could get almost 2 fanaticsor another spear chukka ) Don't take me too serious on this one though! If anyone suffers from Goblin spears, then its Skaven slave regiments.

Yeah, goblin spears aren't great but I wanted to try them and I have alot due to BFSP purchases.
I've changed the unit of bigguns to 20 normal orcs with command. Figure the extra bodies will be more useful.
Do you think I would be better off with an orc shaman over the goblin? Feel like im missing out not having waaagh spell or bash 'em ladz. Seems like a nice way of overcoming the low initative of orks.
I guess you make a good point that an orc shaman could prove more lethal, especially if you end up with Waaagh spell. I can imagine the Squighoppers and Black Orcs would really love to get an extra move and strike first for low initiative has proven to be their downfall many a time.
Goblin shamans are quite nice aswell though.. if you cant find the extra points to make him an orc, all is still good .
