This is the list I'm using to have a few last Waaaghs before the new army book is released...
Black Orc Warboss
Armour of Destiny
Bigged's Kickin Boots
Orc Gt Shaman L4
Talisman of Preservation
Black Orc BSB
Mork's Spirit Totem
38 Orc Boyz
Choppa & Shield
39 Orc Boyz
Choppa & Shield
Hw & Shield
Std & Mus
6 Spear Chukkas
20 Black Orcs
2 Doom Divers
All units of Orcs are fielded 10 wide, the gobbos 5 wide and Trolls 3 wide... The Warboss & BSB create a Leadership bubble for the Gobbos which can hold up an enemy in the centre while the Orc hordes do their thing. Black Orcs take the BSBs flank. The Trolls take the Warboss' flank.
Doom Divers take up position behind the main battle line while 2 batteries of 2 spear chukkas are placed at each table edge and the remaining 2 chukkas placed wherever they're most likely to be effective (i.e. a hill or where they've best LoS).
My only concerns are the lack of speed and the lack of a second shaman. Mork's Spirit Totem should provide decent enough magic defence against most armies. The biggest weakness this army has is me!
Good deployment of the artillery. That might take out half an army by itself XD
i wouldn't worry about your speed, you will outgun most players and have more antimagic than some armybooks can dream of. Let alone the Waaagh spell you will probably have, that will give you a big boost in speed exactly when you want it most.
Orcs in horde formation, does that actually work out?
i dont really like them being 10" wide, having to up them to almost 40 for that makes it also quite a pointsink.
Im gonna miss the spirit totem and sneaky staff.
Warchief Diggah o da Bloodmoon Squiggahs
From experience with da boyz in horde formation: they often seem to be more a scare-monger than anything else... put it this way, when you have an opponent moving Saurus and Temple Guard away from you, you know something is going well!!!
The other great thing about having such numbers is that if you throw your boyz into a battle that they're not winning, combat reform into a 5 wide and super deep unit... now da boyz are holding that nasty enemy unit with T4 and a parry save...
I agree on the pointsink, which is another good reason for Choppa & Shield... I think under the new army book, I'll run da boyz in a horde but starting out with 30 models (seeing as Mork's Spirit Totem will be gone *sob*)...
In fact, I'll post my new proposed army list for the new book...
