So what do you think?
Its what im using at the moment im still painting them up and such. i would like peoples advise
Well, I can't offer much original advice as I am yet to play my first game with orcs, but I can regurgitate some advice I've read. First I would like to point out that as far as I know you aren't able to use ogres in an orc army as the orc army list has no Dogs of War entry. Beyond that, one good thing I've heard is that splitting up the spider riders to two units of five will allow for more tactical flexibility. At the same time you dont really need a standard bearer in either unit as they are a support unit, and any unit they are supporting should probably have a standard already. I dont really like champions in general except to divert challenges which a flanking rider unit wont recieve, so you shouldnt really need them. If you drop the standard bearer and the champion, split the unit and put musicians in both you can free up some points for use elsewhere. I would also like to suggest that there is a fairly low point difference between big 'uns and black orcs, so you might want to consider upgrading them to get what is, in my mind, a much better unit.
The ogres are Dogs of War and take up a Rare choice.
and my army is themed it has no Black orcs or night goblins.
the Spider riders and Night goblins in the list are "Spider Cultists"
and the list is a basic army i will be making it bigger through the Nemesis Crown
Drop the standard on the spider riders, as they wont need it. Instead, take a shield on both charachters.
I guess the night goblins are moving up in a solid combat block and shooting as they go. If not, thats what you should really be doing.
You're taking spears on big uns?? Dont bother, just take shields aswell. With the spare points, take some more big uns.
"The anatomy of your brain is more than your mind can handle. What?"
Vampire Counts - 3500 Points
Orcs And Goblins - 2000 Points
well im still new at O&G.
I thought Bug'uns with spears and choppa's would mean i would get +2 str when fighting cavalry and also fighting in 2 ranks would help alot
Sadly that isn't even close. Spears do not give a strength bonus when you use them on foot, they just allow you to fight in two ranks. You choose whether you use spears or choppas at the start of each new combat. With biguns either give them shields or additional choppas.
Drop the standard and champion from the spiders and split it into 2 units. Every standard your enemy captures gets him 100 extra victory points so putting them on weak flank charging units is a liability.
What did you have in mind for the night goblins? If you give them shortbows are they going to hang back and hold a flank or do you want to get them into a fight? If they are for holding and shooting then drop the command, if they are for fighting drop the bows. Short bows have a very short range and are low strength. Putting the nets in the unit is a great idea, but only if they are intended to get into a fight. Also it is well worth finding the points for a fanatic, even better 2.
I am really not sure about the ogres either, regardless of whether you are allowed them or not. That many points buys you a lot of orcs and even more goblins. You could get a small unit of black orcs for that or maybe a shaman. I mention the shaman as you have no magic at all, and also no defense against magic.
Also is the orc big boss with the war banner your battle standard bearer?
Helper monkey, bring me beer and donuts
Get rid of the nets, standard, and champ on the bows... seeing how they arn't at all equiped for combat... add a fanatic or 2 instead... and run them in front of your big un's to divert chargers and throw the fanatic in the middle of the table (when someone is within 8 of course).... a unit of 20 gobbos is only worth the distraction they could cause... they won't hold up to anything in combat.
